Introduction

Hanze University of Applied Sciences (UAS) is located in the vibrant student city of Groningen.

We have a wide variety of Bachelor's and Master's programmes, Certificate and Exchange courses, the Hanze Summer School and a Preparatory course.

Applied research and innovation is highly integrated in our academic programmes. In addition to this, Hanze UAS has various modern facilities on campus to offer its students. Organisation and Management Hanze University of Applied Sciences

Hanze University of Applied Sciences (Hanze UAS), Groningen, has establishments in Groningen, Assen, Leeuwarden and Amsterdam with approximately 27000 students and 3000 staff members. The name Hanze UAS relates to a once driving force in terms of business and trade. Many years ago, the Hanseatic League was essential for international trade, cooperation and contacts. This was the case in the Netherlands and many other countries, such as Germany and Scandinavia. The Netherlands had many Hanseatic cities, including Groningen.

Therefore, the term 'Hanze' can be firmly related to the past as well as to the city of Groningen. The logo also has historical aspects to it. ​​Responsibilities

The Statutes of Hanze UAS state the responsibilities of the Supervisory Board and the Executive Board. Their responsibilities are described in Hanze UAS' Household Rules.

Educational Vision 2020

Hanze University of Applied Sciences, Groningen trains qualified and committed professionals. It is an environment in which students, research-lecturers and companies meet and learn from each other. Teaching, research and professional practice are closely connected. Assignments from professional practice are aligned to the teaching methods for each degree programme. European Master in Renewable Energy

The European Master in Renewable Energy is a programme offered at the School of Engineering of Hanze UAS in cooperation with EUREC, aimed at training post-graduate students to fill the gap between growing industry demand for specialised renewable energy expertise and the skills currently available on the job market. European Master in Renewable Energy: www.hanzegroningen.eu/mre * Tuition fees: EU/EEA: € 2,006 (per year)/ NON-EU/EEA: € 11,500 (full tuition fee). However, an EU student already holding a Dutch master's degree will pay €7,300, for the full programme. ​​​​Within the rapidly expanding European renewable energy industry, an urgent demand exists for more post-graduate trained staff specialised in renewable energy technology. Together with leading European Universities, EUREC has developed the European Master in Renewable Energy. Hanze University of Applied Sciences, Groningen (Hanze UAS), became member of the EUREC consortium and started this master programme in September 2012. Four universities, all specialising in corporate communication and public relations in an international, professional context, have joined forces to form the Geert Hofstede Consortium.
