A specific type of leadership and a unique approach to both a commercial enterprise and taking responsibility… [+] have been developed, both of which have garnered international respect. Research at the School of Business, Economics, and Law helps clarify this leadership and approach to taking responsibility and makes a conveyance to students, our leaders of tomorrow, possible. Our roots are in local business, which has an international focus and recognizes the importance of high-level research and education - just as was the case when the School was founded. This creates unique cooperation and lays the groundwork for future competitiveness in Sweden. Our business cooperation is also reflected in the School's international work, which is developed in intimate dialogue with our partners. As we form strategic partnerships with leading universities in China and India, we make sure we do so in areas where our partner companies are increasing their presence. The School of Business, Economics, and Law has set lofty goals. We aim to educate internationally attractive students who have adopted a responsible attitude towards social development and to perform top-quality research that helps identify solutions to complex global problems. Linköping University

Innovators Innovative, high-ranking Linköping University in southeastern Sweden offers a wide range of English-taught master’s programmes. Linköping University graduates are particularly popular with employers, with an independent study showing that they are amongst the first in the country to gain employment. Linköping University, with over 28,000 students at bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral levels, the quiet performer from the Swedish heartlands. High-ranking young un… [+] i Linköping University – or LiU, as it’s often called – ranked 26th in the 2014 QS ranking of the world’s best universities less than 50 years old. As a relatively young university, it’s free of the traditions that obstruct innovation and creativity. For instance, LiU was the first Swedish university to embrace interdisciplinary teaching and research – blending technology, sciences and the humanities. LiU advocates sharing and collaboration, rather than isolationism and ”keeping my stuff to myself”. Students from overseas appreciate Linköping University’s flat hierarchies and hands-on approach. You address your lecturers and professors by their first name. Labs at LiU have enough capacity that you can often do some actual lab work yourself. Business successes Sweden’s population is just less than ten million – not much by world standards. But the country certainly punches above its weight in the business sector. Successful businesses born in Sweden include IKEA, H&M, Volvo, Scania, SAAB, Ericsson, TetraPak, AtlasCopco, Skype, Spotify and Mojang – the developers of Minecraft. Life in Sweden So how is life in Sweden? Well, the winters are actually a delight – provided you rug up properly. Accommodation is comfortable; with central heating and industrial-strength insulation, you’ll stay warm while it’s snowy outside. Prices are much on a par with the UK and rents are reasonable. People can be a little reserved but are helpful and friendly once you get them talking. Bikes and Hikes International master’s students at Linköping University love the easy lifestyle on offer in the twin towns of Linköping and Norrköping. A bicycle is the best way to get around, usually on separate bike lanes – that are even ploughed in winter. The surrounding region is beautiful, with easy access to lakes, hiking areas and wilderness, and the national capital of Stockholm is only about 90 minutes away by train. Because most Swedish master’s programmes at LiU are two-years long, you have plenty of time for a life outside your studies. So you don’t just leave with a degree. You learn, but you also live. Quick facts - Linköping University Four faculties: Technology, Arts and Sciences, Health Sciences and Educational Sciences Four campuses: Linköping, Norrköping, Linköping University Hospital, Carl Malmsten Furniture Studies Regional companies include Saab, Ericsson, Siemens, Holmen Paper, BT Industries, Electrolux International collaboration includes: Fudan University, Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität, Nanyang Technological University, Stanford University, University of Edinburgh Learn more about master’s at Linköping University at www.liu.se/master Visit Linköping University’s Facebook page for master’s studies: www.facebook.com/mastersatliu See Linköping University’s Youtube channel for international viewers: www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLFDE54D7410A8848C [-]

Holsby Bible School

Master Sweden Vetlanda SO September 2018

WHO WE ARE Holsby is an international Bible school and camp & retreat center located in southern Sweden. We are one of 25 such centers globally and are affiliated with Torchbearers International, an interdenominational Christian ministry. Our mission is to provide the biblical, experiential and relational context for lives to be changed by Jesus. We are centered in Christ, rooted in Scripture, engaged in discipleship and joined in community. WHAT WE BELIEVE Our statement… [+] of faith is that of Torchbearers International, of which we are a member school: God is the triune God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The Lord Jesus Christ is God’s Son being one with the Father. All things are created by Him and for Him. Through the action of the Holy Spirit, and born of the Virgin Mary, He became man. He was without sin and of His free will, and by His sacrificial death upon the Cross, He brought about salvation for this fallen world. He is the only mediator between God and man, and by accepting His salvation through faith, man is justified from his sins and receives forgiveness and eternal life. Jesus Christ is risen bodily from the dead. Jesus Christ will return to deliver just judgment and to bring all things to completion. The Holy Spirit is God in unity with the Father and the Son. Through the outpouring of the Holy Spirit, Jesus Christ comes to dwell within those who accept Him through faith. Through the presence of the Holy Spirit, a person becomes a new creature, and is being transformed into the likeness of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ adds those who believe in Him to his Body. This is His church on earth, of which He is the Head. The Bible is, in its entirety, the revelation of God for mankind, inspired by the Holy Spirit. OUR STAFF “…we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well…” —1 Thessalonians 2:8 It is our privilege as staff to invest in the lives of people the Lord brings to Holsby each year. Whether it be through discussions in the classroom, late-night chats in the dorm, serving side-by-side in the kitchen, or dangling high off the ground in the ropes course, we look forward to getting to know the guests the Lord brings here and seeing their lives impacted by Christ. FACILITIES Brunnsgården Brunnsgården is Holsby's main building with a large dining room seating up to 120 people, a reading lounge, computer room, main offices, kitchen and other facilities. The guest rooms on the upper floor of Brunnsgården serve as the women's dormitory during the Bible school year. The Chapel The chapel is where Sunday morning services are held as well as all the lectures during the week. An upstairs lounge called the Bik is equipped with a Foosball table, couches and a kiosk where refreshments can be purchased. Ekhaga Ekhaga is our male student residence during the school year, and houses visiting camp and retreat groups during the summer. Each room sleeps two to four people, with shared toilets and showers down the hall. Built in the 1880s, the building has been recently renovated and features a cozy gathering area with couches and fireplace. Ekhaga also houses the Holsby weight room. Solhult This building, dating back to the mid-1800s, is the oldest structure on campus. It is now used as a staff/intern residence and occasionally a student dormitory. Downstairs is a community living room and kitchen. Each room has 1-4 beds, a sink, and some have a toilet as well. Extra toilet facilities and showers are located in the hall. Sports & Recreation Holsby has many recreational facilities and activities to offer. Students can use the athletic field in their free time, play football or ultimate Frisbee. In the fall and spring terms, the high ropes course is open for the students. Canoeing, hiking and rock climbing are also available. Holsby has a weight room, as well as a basketball and tennis court for the use of the students. [-]
