Introduction

Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR), established under the UTAR Education Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation, was officially launched on 13 August 2002.

The establishment was timely with the recognition of the private education industry by the Government of Malaysia as a vital engine in stimulating and sustaining the growth of intellectual capital to meet the complex needs of an increasingly knowledge-based and innovation-driven economy.

Guided by its vision to be a premier University for the advancement and dissemination of knowledge and expertise while emphasising on the holistic development of individuals for nation building, UTAR has made impressive strides in establishing a strong reputation as a comprehensive University with a dedication to achieving excellence in teaching and research.

The four thriving Campuses - three in Klang Valley and one in Kampar, Perak are a testament to UTAR's prodigious growth throughout these years.

The UTAR Campuses in Klang Valley are located in Petaling Jaya, Kuala Lumpur, and Bandar Sungai Long. Students will be based at one of the following Campuses depending on their choice of programme.

UTAR’s Master of Engineering (Electrical) programme aims to train engineering graduates to design better sustainable systems for electricity generation, transmission, and distribution for better operational safety, efficiency and the need to use renewable energy to address the escalating demand for energy. UTAR’s Master of Engineering (Electrical) programme aims to train engineering graduates to design better sustainable systems for electricity generation, transmission, and distribution for better operational safety, efficiency and the need to use renewable energy to address the escalating demand for energy. It also serves as a postgraduates course for Electronic Engineering graduates to develop the necessary competencies to practice as Electrical Engineers with the knowledge and ability to carry out research and solve problems effectively.

Upon graduation, graduates should be able to:

Establish mastery of literary competencies in relation to Electrical Engineering profession. Undertake independent research and implementation of Electrical Engineering projects. Demonstrate commitment to professional ethics in engineering work to achieve a high level of governance with full regard to public interests. Lead, communicate and coordinate effectively in multi-disciplinary settings. Foster high standard of professionalism through continuous learning, applying, evaluating and refining processes in engineering practices.
