IAAD Istituto D'Arte Applicata e Design

Introduction

IAAD Istituto D'Arte Applicata e Design

According to IAAD, the design is the culture of the project, is a system capable of linking production with end users dealing with research and innovation to provide social value, cultural significance to goods and services: meaning, form, and function are the cornerstones of a conscious design.

IAAD invests in the quality of teaching and in the human and professional value of professors.

The EABHES accreditation, the partnership with the French Écoles de Condé, the new premises in the future Lavazza headquarters, collaboration with institutions, organizations, associations and companies for the development of cultural projects, research, educational and work experience, the evolution of the inner structure and the creation of an international scientific committee are the surest signs of a IAAD of the present and of the near future.

Historical outlines

1978

2000
IAAD had been completely renovated in management. The new director, Laura Milani, reset and consolidated the institute, enabling collaborations with companies, associations, and institutions for the development of cultural projects, research, educational and work experience with the firm intention to ensure that the training is constantly updated and qualitatively high-level.

2005
EABHES (European Accreditation Board for Higher Education Schools) accreditation opened IAAD education to a European and international dimension. This recognition allowed IAAD to activate European Bachelor and Master Courses of Science in Design. The titles of Bachelor and Master are conformed to the European system of university credits ECTS - European Credits Transfer System.

A project was born from this fortunate combination, carried out jointly by IAAD and Giugiaro and publicly donated to the city of Turin - a path of discovery of the contemporary Turin through the design of 35 public benches.
