Master in Energy Engineering (Double degree with Università di Trento)

Campus Full time October 2018 Italy Bolzano

Energy Engineering is a double degree master, jointly managed by the Department of Civil, Environmental and Mechanical Engineering of the University of Trento and the Faculty of Science and Technology of the Free University of Bozen - Bolzano. [+]

Energy Engineering is a double degree master, jointly managed by the Department of Civil, Environmental and Mechanical Engineering of the University of Trento and the Faculty of Science and Technology of the Free University of Bozen - Bolzano.

This course is the result of the increasing spreading of technologies connected with the spread generation and the optimized management of energy and the consequent increasing demand of engineers able to develop and propose efficient and innovative technological solutions to deal with the issues deriving from the progressive depletion of fossil non-renewable sources and the environmental impacts due to the use of energy.

The course contents insist on the issues of energy efficiency in the buildings and in the productive cycles, the energy production from middle-small sized plants of renewable sources, which have a reduced environmental impact and they serve customers in the surrounding areas.... [-]

Master in Environmental Management of Mountain Areas (Double degree with Universität Innsbruck)

Campus Full time October 2018 Italy Bolzano

The sustainable development of mountain regions has to consider economic, ecological and social aspects. Currently, in particular, the environments of the European Alps are facing ecological (e.g. climate change, glacier retreat, hydrological changes) as well as land-use changes (e.g. urbanization, abandonment of mountain agriculture), the latter often driven by socio-economic reasons.

While human activities in the mountain areas should be economically viable and broaden opportunities for local communities in terms of profit and jobs, it also has to match the goal of contributing to improving the degree of conservation and renewal of biotic and abiotic resources at the ecosystem level, which ultimately represent, over time, the essential ingredients of sustainable management....
