Introduction

The University of Milano-Bicocca was founded in 1998. It is a young & dynamic multidisciplinary university; the main research and teaching areas are economics, law, education, sociology, statistics, medicine, psychology and science. Following the national reform, the university consists of 16 Departments with cutting-edge laboratories and interdisciplinary research funded in the framework of national and international programs.

It is located in Milan, the capital of Lombardy, amongst the most dynamic and international regions in Europe. It offers students an elegant new campus with state-of-the-art facilities for students, researchers and faculty.

The University of Milano-Bicocca is 21st in the "THE 100 under 50" international ranking published recently by Times Higher Education. The ranking monitors the performance of young universities which could compete with the historical and unrivalled leaders of Anglo-Saxon and American academia.

Internationalization is one of the spearheads of Milano-Bicocca policy, and an essential component of the teaching and research process, aimed at enhancing international cooperation through exchange programs.

MSc in International Economics Description of the Program The MSc in International Economics at the University of Milano Bicocca is a two-year program offering students the knowledge and skills required to pursue a career as applied economists in the private sector as well as in government and international organizations. Our graduates will provide analysis and advice in situations involving complex institutional and managerial issues. Our students will have professional opportunities in manufacturing and commercial companies (usually large multinationals), with the possibility of reaching top management positions as well as in policy-oriented institutions and organizations. The program also provides foundations for undertaking doctoral studies. Students attend advanced courses in macroeconomics, microeconomics, international economics, econometrics and a range of optional courses (game theory, European studies, international financial markets, history of economic thought, labour economics). Our program includes compulsory courses in management, corporate finance and business strategy as well as European and international contract law and competition law. Internships and time spent abroad are an essential feature of our program. Program structure The MSc in International Economics is a two-year program. Students attend six courses per year and conclude their studies by submitting a dissertation. Course work is assessed by written and oral examinations. Courses confer credits (cfu) and the final grade is a weighted average of each course and the dissertation grade, with weights given by the credits.
