International conflicts have changed fundamentally over the past two decades. To understand them and to manage them requires new skills, which is why we offer this new Master programme. In the old days the understanding and management of conflicts built on a fairly clear division of labour between specialists – between diplomats, soldiers, and aid experts. Conflicts could be understood according to distinct phases, moving from peace to tension over war and stabilisation to renewed peace. For each phase, a particular set of specialists went to work.Today’s conflicts are multiple, complex, and volatile. They may last for more than a decade. Signs of progress are often deceptive, and outsiders involved in managing the conflict can experience war, development, and peace enforcement all in one day. It is what the military calls a three-block war. To grasp it, and to help organisations prepare for it, experts must look beyond specialisations and be trained to understand and work with complex and conflict-ridden environments. This Master of Social Sciences in International Security and Law will train this kind of expert. It will be experts who look to the international domain, who want to work with international issues, and who will want to help solve conflicts. The programme will provide the experts with the skills to integrate a conflict’s political, juridical, and ethical dimensions in a comprehensive assessment that identifies the drivers of the conflict and what international organisations can do about them.... Master of Science in Engineering - Electronics

Campus Full time September 2019 Denmark Odense

With an MSc in Engineering – Electronics, you will gain skills in power electronics and embedded systems, and a combination of the two disciplines. [+]

Virtually all electronics today contain power electronics and embedded systems in one form or another, and this trend is on the rise, with future products and production becoming increasingly intelligent and energy-efficient. This means that more and more electronics are based on power electronics, embedded systems, and control technology. There is therefore a demand for electronic engineers with expertise in these fields. You will be educated in three disciplines: • Power electronicsThe world’s collective energy consumption is soaring, which has led to an increased focus on the need to convert energy production from the use of fossil fuels to renewable energy – for example in the form of solar and wind energy. Power electronics is the key to new sustainable energy solutions. • Embedded systemsEmbedded systems are found in nearly all electronic equipment and smart solutions. To add to future product and service intelligence, electronic systems are also embedded.Embedded systems are found everywhere, and are used in all market sectors such as energy, medicine, environment, agriculture, communication, entertainment, textiles, transport, logistics, chemistry, food, and materials. • Integrated applicationIn order to integrate the use of power electronics and embedded systems, it is necessary to design a unique control system for each device. This integrated application of power electronics and function control in the form of embedded systems is a prerequisite for the development and optimisation of a sustainable future with intelligent products.Career Opportunities Since power electronics and embedded systems play a central role in the energy development of the products and...
