Introduction

The Catholic University of Brasilia (UCB) is the only private university in the Federal District. It is a Catholic, philanthropic, and community higher education institution. UCB is administered by the Brazilian Union of Catholic Education (UBEC), which was founded in 1972, with the aim of maintaining Catholic educational institutions, providing a solid and quality education network.

Created on March 12, 1974, the Catholic Faculty of Human Sciences (FCCH), the name given to the current UCB at the time, was the first teaching unit to offer three courses: Economics, Administration, and Pedagogy.

Over the years, in 1980 the Faculty organized itself into a teaching and values ​​structure, whose base became increasingly solid, which made it possible to install the Integrated Faculties of the Catholic of Brasília (FICB). In 1984, with the growth in the offer of undergraduate courses, the Institution launched its first graduate courses.

In 1994, the Catholic began to be recognized by the Ministry of Education as a University, maintaining in its essence the promotion of knowledge, without neglecting spirituality based on Christian ethics. In 1995, there was the solemnity of the installation of the Catholic University of Brasilia (UCB).

Following its pace of exponential growth, in 1999 the University started offering the Dentistry course and, in 2001, included Medicine in its portfolio. In 2005, student activities at agencies and junior companies began, and the student became the center of the action. In 2019, the Institution implemented the Veterinary Medicine course to its portfolio.
