The M.S. Degree in Plant and Soil Science is designed to further the specialized professional training of students through formal courses while at the same time teaching the student how to conduct research and present pertinent results.

The Master of Science program in Biology offers students the opportunity for advanced learning in their chosen area of biology. Our purpose is to train students broadly in modern biological principles so that they acquire the strong foundation needed to become highly skilled and intellectually independent scientists. The program is committed to excellence in education, research, and service. The Biology MS Program currently operates a cooperative program with the University of Alabama in Huntsville, providing a variety of specializations for future graduate students; including fields such as microbiology and genetics & molecular biology.

The Master of Science in Counseling Psychology degree program provides opportunities to acquire knowledge in counselling and assessment skills to help people solve problems of living in a multicultural global society.

The Department offers graduate programs leading to an M.S. degree in Food Science. Students apply a fundamental understanding of biological, chemical, physical, and behavioral sciences to the processing, preservation, quality evaluation, nutrition and health aspects, and utilization of foods. Our research and education programs integrate the disciplines of chemistry, microbiology, biotechnology, processing, engineering, toxicology, sensory science, product development, animal health, biochemistry, and nutrition to prepare qualified graduates for food-related careers in industry, government, and academia. The graduate programs in Food Science provide students with a deeper understanding and knowledge base of the various areas of the field and also give students the opportunity to conduct hands-on research; an essential part of this applied science. Students learn theory in a classroom setting and apply the knowledge gained in a laboratory setting. Students earning an M.S. in Food Science will be thoroughly prepared to begin work in any area of Food Science, including Nutritional/Food Biochemistry, Food Engineering/Processing, Food Chemistry, Food Toxicology, Food Biotechnology, Food Microbiology/Safety, Animal Health, and Sensory Science.

The MS in Cybersecurity (MSCBS) degree program is an interdisciplinary program with the Colleges of Science and Business with a distinct computer engineering track.
