The Master of Science Degree in Biology offers two specializations: Molecular Biotechnology and Environmental and Ecological Sciences. The emphasis of these programs is to present an interdisciplinary curriculum focused on scientific reasoning to prepare students for work in the field of Biology dealing with the molecular aspects of biotechnology, ecology or the environmental sciences.

The Master’s Program in Electrical Engineering (M.E.) is designed to prepare students with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to perform as efficient and highly qualified professionals in the specializations of Power and Control Systems. Both specializations are focused on modeling, design and practical knowledge of systems.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering offers two modalities of master degrees: Master of Science (M.S.) in Mechanical Engineering and Master of Engineering (M.E.) in Mechanical Engineering. In each modality, two specializations are offered: Aerospace and Energy.

The mission of the Graduate Program in Biomedical Sciences is to provide a rigorous and stimulating research and training environment for UCC students. Our students provide the intellectual resources needed to advance the research and educational goals of the institution and to provide a new generation of scientists. The faculty is committed to excellence in interdisciplinary research training for qualified candidates who will continue to advance the fundamental knowledge needed to conquer disease and promote health and improved quality of life for all people. The knowledge and skills acquired will enable the graduate to be successful in biomedical research conducted at universities, government, and private industry laboratories, as well as in education. The program also prepares the graduate for advanced training and research. In the pursuit of this goal, there are departmental research laboratories furnished with high-quality equipment, supported by service and administrative areas in each department. A common instrumentation laboratory, a tissue culture laboratory, an electromechanical shop, an immunoretrovirology laboratory core facility, and a radioisotope laboratory supplement the above space. Each department is equipped with computer facilities.

The program offers a combination of technology with management subjects so graduates can contribute to the economic development of their societies. The curriculum will endow students with knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary for employment in the management of technical settings and/or admission into graduate schools to pursue advanced degrees in Engineering Management or related fields.

The program provides students with an in-depth knowledge of the principles of a Converged Networks including design, implementation, security, and management with a strong hands-on approach.

This specialty contemplates the training of professionals capable of offering productive alternatives in the integral management of wildlife, with special attention to the protection and conservation of the habitat of the species. The courses of this specialty have an interdisciplinary approach in the analysis of the interaction and interdependence of the ecological, socioeconomic, cultural and technological components in the management and conservation of tropical ecosystems.

The Master of Science Program in Biotechnology with Specializations in Biotechnology of Plants and General Biotechnology has as its goal the formation of professionals who possess the knowledge, skills, attitudes and the social commitment, which allow them to make responsible contributions to the scientific development for our society and to the advancement of biotechnology.

The Ana G. Méndez University, Gurabo Campus offers the degrees of Master of Science (MS) in Mechanical Engineering and Master of Engineering (ME) in Mechanical Engineering. The Alternative Energy specialization provides the student with the opportunity to develop through courses and research in the management of various sources of alternative energy such as solar, wind, oceanic, and biofuels.

Prepares the student to identify, evaluate and manage toxicological or occupational risks in the human being and in the ecosystem. Analyzes hypothetical situations of the dispersion of contaminants; routes of exposure in humans and chemical interaction with the environment.
