The Master's Degree in Sustainable Water Management (MAGESA) offered by the Water and Society Program of El Colegio de San Luis is a postgraduate course aimed at research and training researchers and professionals for equitable, democratic, and sustainable water management. It is a multidisciplinary and consolidated program, face-to-face, open every two years, with a four-semester study plan that takes two years and requires full-time exclusive dedication. The research lines intertwine academic learning strategies, research questions, and field practices of students and teachers. The curricular organization is flexible and favors academic mobility and fieldwork for students. Promotes significant progress in research work to obtain a degree, so that students conclude the master's thesis at the end of the fourth semester.

It is the first postgraduate degree that is taught mainly under the distance modality (through the ENVIA 3.0 platform) at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana and covers a gap in postgraduate studies specialized in environmental issues since in this master's degree they are approached from the perspective of the social sciences, while most of the existing postgraduate courses in this area approach environmental problems from the agronomic and biological sciences or engineering.
