The Jewellery & Metal programme seeks to unpick the relationship between people and things, pushing beyond the subject-object binary JaM students explore the multiple ways we are entrapped and enthralled by the complex entanglement of the material and immaterial worlds. Through emergent acts of making, JaM believes we can shed new light on these complex and essential relationships, revealing great depths in our understanding of, and being in, the world.

The Master's Program in Jewelry Design teaches students how to build their own professional identity: the modules dealing with methodology, communication, and branding, as well as all the other courses, help to develop a personal vision of jewelry. The course is aimed at strengthening students’ autonomy in the relevant fields, molding them into professionals capable of leading a design project, thanks to the acquired know-how and technical tools, managing all its complexities, and using both creative and professional approaches. They also become able to design collections of high jewelry, fine jewelry, or precious watches.

Official Master's degree accredited by the Italian Ministry of Universities & Research. The two-year Master of Arts in Contemporary Jewelry Design offers a wide range of approaches and contexts, training professional avant-garde jewelry designers. Contemporary designs come from formal and semantic research, artisanal skills that transform into commercial, exploiting the potentials of e-commerce and social platforms in the creation of contemporary jewelry.

The MFA Jewelry & Metal Arts program emphasizes advanced studio coursework and thesis concept development. Students focus on mastering fabrication and casting skills, learning digital techniques, and exploring cross-cultural themes before embarking on individual Directed Study/thesis paths leading to a visually powerful and conceptually cohesive professional portfolio.

Industrial design is the youngest of the practical disciplines. In Poland, the industrial design grew out of the tradition of practical arts, establishing itself as an independent field in the late 1970s. Thus, by definition, industrial design is the design of the form and features of products intended to be marketed. Failure to recognize its uniqueness as compared to the other creative disciplines, too often leads to it being described as one of the practical arts and crafts, and consequently to it being wrongly understood by society in general.

Are you fascinated by distinct materials and the objects they form, both decorative and functional? Are you drawn in by the effect of items that ‘just sit’? Challenge yourself to think harder about your work and where it belongs in the wider world. This course will train you to harness more sophisticated design and research skills, which will serve as a starting point for you to develop your design language and truly engage with meaning and context. You’ll find that experimentation and radical thinking are central to learning at this level. Live projects will drive your ambitions and you’ll deepen and strengthen your practice with social and collaborative interactions.

This Postgraduate Program will address the design process of Clothing and Jewelry, focusing on project methodologies that allow identifying, analyzing and relating various specific parameters required to represent, conceptualize and execute designs, brand, production and commercial developments. On the other hand, the degree will address the management process from a strategic approach to design and production, for the formulation of businesses and followed evaluation of the economic feasibility of innovative projects with a sustainable and responsible nature. In turn, this program aims to train its graduates in the acquisition of technological tools for the digitization of design that allow them to handle new and alternative ways of communicating, creating, producing and offering goods and services. And in the application of 3D Printing in different phases of the creative, productive and commercial process. The degree will also contribute to the study of the different industries and branches of activity that make up the value chains of each sector, emphasizing common aspects for the development of projects that complement both sectors: clothing + jewelry designs and that link the tangible productions, from the manufacturing industries, and intangibles, from the creative industries.

Alchimia’s MFA program develops over a two-year period with the aim to expand and deepen the students’ knowledge and skills in studio-based jewelry design. The program is intended to generate further critical understanding in and of the discipline, strengthen individual artistic approaches and positions, and investigate new possibilities for marketing and promotion.
