This program is delivered in a pre-recorded (asynchronous) format where a dedicated lecturer facilitates learning each week. Students can review the lecture at a time that suits them and are guided through weekly activities, readings, and course materials to achieve the learning outcomes. Live (synchronous) sessions are organized as needed, and lecturers adopt a highly personalized coaching approach. This format of learning is suitable for students who are independent learners and require a high degree of flexibility. All required resources, including textbooks, for selected units, are provided within each class on the learning platform. Students also have access to a range of academic skills supporting resources, academic databases for research and are also invited to program-wide drop-in sessions and socials during the term.

The Department of Psychology is dedicated to preparing students for a wide variety of careers through a program that provides a carefully calibrated balance of studies in a broad range of subject areas that present psychology as a living social discipline. The curriculum prepares students to take the licensed psychologist examination and paves the way for them to continue their studies at the graduate level, leading to a specialized career in psychology.

The Master of Business Administration / Master of Science in Manufacturing Engineering is offered as a dual-degree, administered jointly by the Department of Manufacturing Engineering and the School of Management.

This faculty was opened as the first coeducational faculty of nutrition in Japan. It takes pride in being a traditional faculty of nutrition and has produced many registered dietitians and nutrition teachers, medical technologists, and food sanitation inspectors (administrators) who are involved in the maintenance and advancement of human health. The course of Nutritional Sciences and Dietetics for producing national registered dietitians, and Course of Medical Technologies for producing medical technologists, were established to provide human resources with a rich education and high degree of professionalism.

For the academic year of 2017, the SESAMI Master’s program starts in October and can be completed in one and a half years (i.e., in March in the year after the next). During the first 12 months of the program (i.e., two semesters from October 1 to March 30 and from April 1 to September 30), a series of intensive courses are taught all in English by professors of Kobe University and of those affiliated with universities and research organizations overseas.
