The School of Life Science offers a variety of subjects in the fields of nutrition science for health enhancement and management, architecture for living environment, and biology for the regional environment. Students are supposed to learn about and understand the relationship between academic study and livelihood.

We train mechanical engineers and researchers who can respond to the industrial society of the 21st century. Currently, in the world of machines, there is a strong demand for higher functionality, higher efficiency, and higher reliability by adding "information functions". In this department, based on the basics of mechanical engineering learned in the faculty, creative mechanical engineers and researchers who can respond to the future society will be referred to as "structural function", "production/processing", "energy function", and "system". We will train the four fields of "chemical function" as pillars of education.

We will develop human resources who have specialized education in electrical and electronic engineering and a broad perspective. Established four educational fields of "electronic physical properties," "circuits," "energy," and "information and communications" for the development of new materials and devices. Now that advanced electrical and electronic engineering technology has become indispensable as a core technology that supports the highly information-oriented society, we will develop human resources with a wide range of perspectives and specialized backgrounds.

What is matter? Why does matter display a wide range of properties and functions? How was the Universe created? The research groups in the Department of Physics tackle such fundamental questions in the natural sciences head-on.

The purpose of mathematics education in universities is to allow students to learn the basic theories of modern mathematics, thereby acquiring wide knowledge, and at the same time to train persons equipped with a highly developed logicality and flexible mathematical reasoning abilities who can play an active role in various fields in society.

In the Japanese Philosophy field, students approach Japanese language ranging from classical Japanese prior to 8th century to modern Japanese including dialects from multiple points of view. On the other hand, in the Japanese Literature field, students deeply study ‘waka’ and other forms of traditional poems and novels dating back to the ancient times to the late modern period, analyzing and evaluating them.

We train engineers with advanced academic knowledge and the ability to carry out construction engineering. Focusing on the three fields of "building structure," "social infrastructure," and "planning/environment," a wide range of construction engineering, including advanced construction technology, national and regional utilization plans, urban development/maintenance planning, and disaster prevention / environmental conservation technology. Learn knowledge and skills, and cultivate an attitude of engaging in research on your own. We will foster engineers who can create safer and more comfortable living spaces and utilize the results in society.

Looking at our clothing, food, and shelter, it is clear that humankind’s prosperity in the 20th century was brought about by progress in chemistry. Naturally, chemistry will continue to be the key to prosperity in the 21st century.
