International security is a sensitive issue, which traverses political, environmental, economic, and ethical aspects of today’s society.

The masters program engages students with the consequences as well as the causes of contemporary conflicts, the threats to mankind arising out of environmental degradation, climate change, and infectious diseases. The masters program is multidisciplinary and draws from a range of other fields including: defense, political sciences, international relations, law, biology, public health, demography and environmental studies. A student enrolled for the masters program in international security is expected to take classes in all these relevant areas.

Students are also encouraged to apply the theories learnt in classes to real world situations and in solving real world problems as well as the current policy debates. With the specialist and professional skills obtained from the program, graduates of the program are well equipped to face the job market. There are many career opportunities in various fields available for the graduates including: humanitarian, non-governmental organizations, diplomacy, risk management, defense, development and the government.
