Our M.Ed in Education Policy and Leadership gives students the tools to shape the future of education. The EPL program prepares educators and other professionals to serve as leaders in education organizations. Students gain the knowledge and skills in leadership, policy, law, economics, and research to effectively administer education programs and policies at all levels. The EPL program is offered in three formats; on-campus, online, and hybrid.

The Master of Education (M.Ed.) in educational leadership and policy studies (ELPS) prepares educational leaders and administrators. Students build upon their existing expertise with skills that can increase organizational effectiveness. Options of the M.Ed. in ELPS provide programs that feature higher education administration or administration in schools, kindergarten-grade 12.

Rooted in economics and sociology, this master’s teaches you how to use statistics, data sets, and research results to formulate, implement, and evaluate educational policies for grades K-12 and higher education. Gain in-demand skills and experience to craft reforms and improve the quality of education, working for educational agencies, think tanks, and nonprofit organizations.

Davenport University’s College of Urban Education equips current and aspiring school administrators with the skills and strategies critical to leading PK-12 schools and districts in our cities.

There are three tracks within the MS degree in ELPA. Focus on K12 Leadership with Social Justice Focus is designed for current teachers or school leaders who wish to lead schools that eliminate inequities across student populations. Focus on Higher Education provides a foundation in administration, organization, policy, and governance in postsecondary education.

The Teacher Leadership M.Ed. program is a four semester degree (30 credit hours) intended for K12 educators working in public, charter, private schools and other educational organizations. The program is designed to support educators in developing the knowledge and skills specific to building a foundation of instructional leadership that supports school improvement.

Our MA program answers the need for global leaders with the practical experience, foundational knowledge, and ethical commitments necessary to achieve lasting and effective societal change within the field of education, including but not limited to the classroom learning environment.

Students completing the Master of Science in Education degree will be prepared to learn theories of transformative learning and multiple intelligence theory and their pedagogical use. They may use different achievements, skills, interests, practices, and perspectives as resources for effective learning and teaching.
