On the other hand, computational biology focuses on the development and application of analytical data, mathematical models, computational simulation techniques and theoretical methods, for the study of biological, behavioral and social systems. The object of the Master is based on the tools, instruments and methodologies provided by bioinformatics and computational biology for the study of living beings. The Master's Degree in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology is a novel bet of the articulation of four universities in Manizales, thanks to the support of SUMA and organizations such as the Luker Foundation and the Center for Bioinformatics and Computational Biology of Colombia, BIOS.

The program has as a goal to work up new possibilities for improving teaching and learning from the design of learning environments in a variety of contexts, from the principles of the Sciences of Learning. The research process will be developed throughout the master's degree following a process of research-based educational design.
