This flexible project-based postgraduate course is open to artists and designers wishing to develop fresh assumptions for their creative practice by means of innovative, practice-based, research-driven approaches to creative enquiry. Informed by a spirit of interdisciplinary experimentation, and underpinned by conceptual understanding, MA Art & Design promotes awareness of the value-informed nature of leading-edge contemporary art and design.   

MA Visual Communication: Graphic Design is an intensive contemporary programme that combines creative and professional development, experience within a nurturing, experimental, interdisciplinary, studio-based environment. The course is focused on the development of imaginative and conceptually distinctive visual practices, in which qualities of invention and discovery are underpinned by rigorous specialist expertise, preparing students to achieve a broad range of creative ambitions.  

MA Fashion: Design at CSVPA is an intensive, contemporary and personalised postgraduate programme which encourages the development of an individual approach to fashion design practice and the articulation of a distinctively value-driven vision. Working within the interdisciplinary and conceptually informed environment of the Graduate School, you will develop the professional skills, confidence and creative focus necessary to embark on a career within contemporary fashion.

You'll select one 30-credit module from: Children’s Spirituality; Christian Spirituality in the Contemporary World; Spirituality, Materiality and the Body; Wesleyan Spirituality and Theology; Interfaith Relations from Theory to Encounter; The Mystery of Love; Mysticism East and West; Life in Liturgy: The Spiritual Traditions of the Christian East; Christianity and Ecology.

Supported by your personal tutor, you’ll design your own path through this Masters course choosing the modules that are most relevant to you and your future career. Each module will give you space for self-directed learning and your choice for project work and individual research. One optional publishing module enables you to use industry standard software to learn how to transform a manuscript or data file into a print or digital publication suitable for audiences in local and international markets.

Our Creative Writing Masters degree consists of four core modules and a Major Project. The core modules invite you to consider what it means to write novels and to be a writer, and to develop your writerly identity and presentational skills through consideration of form and structure across multiple genres. There are additionally two workshop-based modules that combine exercises to sharpen your technique with practical advice and discussion of example texts.

You will be assessed through a variety of methods aligned to the specific learning outcomes of each module. Rather than simply testing your learning, the assessment on this course is designed to be integral to your learning process. It will consist entirely of coursework and will, on some modules, require you to complete a sustained piece of research and writing or, on others, a portfolio of smaller, complementary tasks.

You'll then select two modules from: The Theology and Practice of Mission; Moral Development, Reasoning and Decision Making; Theology and Philosophy.

Whether you're studying for an MA, PG Cert or PG Dip, you'll study two core modules: Foundations of Morality; and Moral Development, Moral Reasoning and Decision Making. PG Dip and MA students select two optional modules. You'll select one 30-credit module from: Catholic Social Thought for Contemporary Christian Practice; Ethics in Professional Context; Christianity and Ecology; Interfaith Relations from Theory to Encounter; The Mystery of Love. You'll then select a second optional module from: Christian Spirituality and the Arts; Embodying Wisdom: Spirituality, Psychology and Philosophy; Theology and Philosophy.

Gain an in-depth understanding of pastoral theology as it relates to the goals of chaplaincy and care. This Masters degree is taught by Cambridge Theological Federation and accredited by ARU. Relate reflectively and reflexively to the themes and traditions of pastoral care to contemporary personal and vocational contexts. Develop a critical understanding of the human condition as it shapes different approaches to models of chaplaincy.

Illustration is a broad visual narrative practice that has many applications in publishing and the wider creative industry. On our MA Illustration degree, you will focus on illustration for social change, an innovative and growing area that addresses the complex social and environmental problems faced by society today.
