MA Digital Fashion Innovation encourages and supports designers to explore and work with advanced digital technologies, interrogate and question current fashion practice and challenge the ideals around how a product is realised. Fashion is currently recognised as one of the most damaging industries on the planet, abusing natural resources, dumping masses of redundant waste and product into landfill and flushing tonnes of chemicals into the oceans on a daily basis. It is therefore critical the practice of a designer acknowledges and attempts to address and integrate a conscious and considered approach to both the design and realisation of a fashion product.

The MA in Graphic Design & Art Direction programme is designed for creative practitioners who wish to advance their knowledge, skills and specialism within the field of visual communication. Each student will develop a practice-led investigation within this broader context, actively constructing a bespoke body of design knowledge which combines theory, practice, research, entrepreneurship and innovation from a wide range of creative activities.

The Art and Emerging Technologies MA explores experimental applications of creative technologies in art practice, the development of advanced digital skills, and their impact on society, culture, and the environment. You’ll be encouraged to consider technology as an integral part of the creative process, embarking on a journey of exploration and seeking out innovative directions to expand and enrich your practice.

In our Visual & Experience Design master’s program, students will gain an understanding of innovations in digital, computational, and physical interactions that permeate our daily lives. All topics will be delivered in sequential clusters, allowing the students to acquire and apply theories to real contexts, as well as to envision entirely new scenarios.

How these media will be designed in the future in terms of design, narration and interaction is of crucial importance. In addition to career paths in the games and film industry, a wide range of other fields of activity are opening up, including in connection with the creation of educational games and virtual worlds.

The purpose of the MA in Design (Graphic Design) is to educate and train researchers who can contribute to the development of knowledge at an advanced level. The Master’s Degree is earned by completing a single advanced research project, culminating in the production and acceptance of a dissertation.

This MA Media in Development program challenges the assumptions behind the media and development industries and development studies and offers new ways of thinking about the critical issues facing societies today such as climate change. Media performers, artists and designers doing strange and unexpected things with technology: that is what the MADtech study programme is about. You are invited to employ and explore hybrid technologies in order to imagine, interpret and change human interaction within a transforming world.

The course is taught by design practitioners and researchers, and enriched by national and international visiting tutors from a range of creative industries in an expanded mode of design. You will explore the role of graphic design as a tool through which to critically investigate current issues and contemporary visual culture, society, politics, identity, information, education, and technology. Your position as a designer will also be explored through design practice and theory.

This MA in Web Design and Content Planning focuses on the technical, functional and aesthetic approaches to website design. You'll learn about industry best practices for mark-up, compliance, user experience, information architecture, content strategy, accessibility, and search engine optimization (SEO). This allows you to create and manage websites that provide a good user experience.

This master’s degree is designed to be completed in one year, or over a fall, a spring and a summer semester. (Working professionals may want to take longer to complete it.) It will prepare recent graduates or practice professionals to excel in the exciting field of digital journalism and in other media- or communication-related fields.
