With its literary and cultural studies orientation, this program offers students the opportunity to explore traditions and diversifications of Anglophone literatures, cultures, languages in depth – with a special focus on American literature, culture, and language. By comparing the three countries, the study of English in a Franco-German context opens up a new dimension of interculturality and transnationality. The master's thesis will be written in collaboration with classes on literary theory in Dijon.

The MA program “Human Geography: Globalisation, Media, and Culture” offers a critical human geographic perspective on an entangled globalized world as well as a thorough engagement with current debates relating to globalization, (digital) media, and culture. In our seminars, we combine theoretical debates and empirical research practice and insights into a range of different research methods, techniques and practical skills e. g. the production of short films, podcasts or blogs. Our institute provides you with an exciting teaching and research environment complemented by international visiting scholars and experts. Within your studies, you have the chance to design and carry out your own empirical research project during an on-site workshop.
