The highly selective MA Art Therapy programme is a global leader in blending Eastern and Western approaches, methodologies and perspectives to train art therapists who are culturally relevant and progressive in a fast-changing world.

Expressive Arts Therapy is one of five master’s programs offered through CIIS’ Counseling Psychology department. The pedagogy provides an engaging online, hybrid curriculum that weaves multimodal expressive arts, such as visual and digital arts, music, dance and movement, poetry, spoken word, and drama into all courses.

The Master of Arts is a flexible, postgraduate degree that allows you to undertake a bespoke research project on a topic of your choice. It will equip you with deep knowledge to bolster your CV, demonstrate your expertise and prepare you for a PhD should you wish to continue your studies.

Integrating visual arts with psychotherapy, this American Art Therapy Association-accredited master of arts degree program engages the creative power of art for mental health assessment and treatment, preparing you to work in clinical practice with people of all ages in a variety of settings including hospitals and clinics, mental health agencies, prisons, schools, elder care facilities, art studios, and in private practice. Graduates meet educational requirements for the Registered Art Therapist (ATR) credential in the United States.

The new track of the Master of Arts in Clinical Art Therapy and Counseling Program provides education and training in Art Therapy and Professional Counseling. This Master of Arts graduate degree is a total of 60 credits, 48 credits taken in the current Clinical Art Therapy program and 12 credits taken from the Department of Counseling and Development.
