Introduction

The Economics graduate program lets you delve deeper into economic theories and quantitative methods for interpreting and analyzing data. You'll become a stronger critical thinker and learn to use data analysis to research public policy issues and business decisions.

Coursework in the master’s program provides you with a solid grounding in microeconomic and macroeconomic theory and will introduce you to both public policy issues and the analysis of financial markets. You'll expand your skills in data analysis through a class in econometrics and by undertaking your own research project in the program’s research seminar. You also have the option of expanding your research seminar project into a master’s thesis. Students are encouraged to pursue internships in the financial sector, economic development, and the public sector.

While the program is primarily designed for students who seek employment after completing the MA degree, a number of alumni have also used the program to prepare for doctoral programs.
