Introduction

Master in Finance, Accounting and Insurance

  • Finance, Accounting and Insurance, Master's Degree in Finance, Accounting and Insurance
  • Full-time (daytime) studies - limit of 200 places
  • Duration: 2 years - 4 semesters

Studies in the field of "Finance, Accounting and Insurance" are intended for people who have a bachelor's, master's or equivalent degree in each field. The second-cycle studies complement the knowledge acquired during the first-cycle studies in the field of finance and accounting, as well as broaden the knowledge of the field by choosing one of two specialties: "Finance of enterprises and accounting" and "Management of financial institutions". The specialization is chosen during the first semester of studies; specialization classes start from the second semester of studies. The specialty will be launched if at least 50 candidates apply for it.
After passing course exams, writing a master's thesis and passing the master's exam, the graduate receives a master's degree in Finance, Accounting and Insurance.

Extensive international cooperation of the Faculty of Management with over 60 European universities under the ERASMUS program and with numerous universities from the USA and Asia allows students to study also at foreign universities. The Faculty of Management uses the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS).

Studies in the field of "Finance, Accounting and Insurance" are to educate a specialist with a full profile of qualifications in the field of finance, accounting and insurance. This knowledge is to be of a general nature, well embedded in contemporary theories of the functioning of the financial market, accounting and its international standards. At the same time, the acquired qualifications, which consist of the obtained learning outcomes, are the basis for undertaking not only research activities, but also give the opportunity to actively participate in business practice. Without efforts to educate in this area, it is difficult to imagine rational behavior of business entities in the era of globalization, integration and computerization. These processes require, on the one hand, an understanding of the principles of financial flows and their standardization, and on the other, ways to protect against possible economic perturbations.
Polish enterprises facing international competition must have managers and employees who can optimally combine various solutions in the field of cost monitoring or risk management. Only a full profile of education, including accounting, finance of enterprises and financial institutions, principles of the functioning of the financial market, gives the opportunity to increase the efficiency of management, and thus competitiveness on the international market.
The proposed course is also in line with the education standards adopted by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education as well as in the best western schools in the world - both American and European. At the same time, selected directional effects are consistent with the requirements for candidates for statutory auditors.
