Introduction

Biochemistry is a central and interdisciplinary area in the field of biosciences, participating in the resolution of many societal challenges and seeking to contribute to sustainable environmental, social, and economic development (Sustainable Development Goals 4-6 and 10-15). The Master in Biochemistry aims to prepare professionals to perform functions, tasks, and activities in the field of Biochemistry, fundamental and applied, in technical, academic, or scientific research careers. It presents 3 main lines of education:

  • Fundamental Biochemistry;
  • Biochemistry and Health, including the study of the molecular mechanisms of diseases and aging, Environmental Health and its impacts on human health and the development of new drugs;
  • Biotechnological Biochemistry, dedicated in particular to the preservation of the natural and cultural heritage and agri-foods applications.

This Master's offers trainees the opportunity to deepen their knowledge and develop specific skills, according to their personal interests, in lines of action based on research institutes, centers, and laboratories. Trainees will be able to develop their dissertations in an academic environment or in collaboration with companies.
