Together with a Christian frame of reference and Christian faculty, Bushnell University’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling program is distinctive in several important ways. First, you will gain a solid foundation of counseling skills, procedures, and theories. Building upon that base, you’ll be encouraged to develop a theoretical orientation to counseling that matches your own personality and value system. Students implement and refine this personal approach to counseling in their second year by seeing clients in the Bushnell Counseling Center. All Practicum and Internship students receive individual and group supervision from qualified supervisors throughout the program.

Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling

The Master of Arts in School Counseling program trains students on a faith-oriented campus to become successful school counselors in K-12 public or private schools. The program is accredited by the Teacher Standards and Practices Commission (TSPC) in conjunction with the Oregon Educational Act for the 21st Century. Together with a Christian frame of reference and Christian faculty, this program will provide you with a solid foundation of counseling skills and theories to promote the academic, social, and emotional development of children through a constructive method. Building on current research, you’ll learn to develop a comprehensive school counseling program and a professional identity as a school counselor that reflects the National Model and the Oregon Framework. Successful graduates promote the highest standards in academic performance, student welfare, as well as safe and violent-free environments. The adult-friendly environment permits students to individualize their program through choices of topics on papers and presentations within required coursework and selected internship sites.

The Master of Education (M.Ed.) at Bushnell University is a non-licensure graduate program designed for educators and professionals who currently hold their initial teaching license but want to expand their knowledge and advance their careers. The M.Ed. program at Bushnell University allows students to add an endorsement to their current teaching license. Endorsement areas include Special Education, Physical Education (PE), and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). Students also take courses in educational research, ethics, cultural competency, and leadership. This program provides skills to improve instruction and professional practice. The M.Ed. program offers engaging, active, social-learning experiences aligned and tailored to your professional goals. You will earn your degree in just 12 months under the guidance of leading professionals in the field.
