Introduction
This program is right for you if...
- you have an undergraduate major in accounting and you plan to take the Uniform CPA examination in Massachusetts (effective July 1, 2002, candidates taking the CPA examination must have 150 semester hours of college-level education. These hours must include accounting and business courses prescribed by the Massachusetts Board of Public Accountancy).
- you are already working in the field of accounting but seek the credentials and knowledge needed for career advancement – as well as access to a well-established professional network.
Quick Facts
The MS in Accounting program starts in the Summer term. You may take courses on a full-time or part-time basis. Time to completion depends on whether you select the Summer/Summer full-time option or the academic year option.
Summer/Summer full-time option: students take the first five courses in the program during the first summer and then return to school the following summer to complete the remaining five courses
Academic year option: students begin taking classes either on a full-time or part-time basis the first summer of the program. Remaining courses are taken in subsequent semesters on a full-time or part-time basis.
The majority of required courses are offered during the day on the main campus. Elective courses are offered primarily in the evening on the main campus or at the Downtown Batterymarch campus.
To earn the degree, you must complete 30 semester hours of credit and achieve a 3.000-grade point average. You may receive a waiver and/or transfer credit which will reduce the total number of credits required.
