The Strategic Product Innovation specialization focuses on the research and design of human-scale products and related services that reflect cultural and societal needs in a complex way.

How to Apply

For our English-language MA programs, furnishing proof of at least B2-level English language proficiency or fluent English skills is also required in addition to an academic degree.

A university degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s degree) is a precondition for applying to these programs. Applicants are evaluated based on their portfolio presenting their professional journey, and also on their introduction (practical exam). This way, prospective students can be selected based on their talent, abilities, and accomplishments to date.

The content and format requirements for the portfolio upload, as well as the amount and payment method of the special procedural fee, will be posted on the university’s website by 1 February 2025.

Between 5 May and 2 June 2025: Upload your portfolio

30 June to 4 July 2025: Take the practical entrance examination.

The university reserves the right to change the period of the entrance examinations, as well as the order, content, and method of execution of the individual examination tasks. Any such change will be published on the university’s website.

It’s a specialization of the Design MA program at MOME that aims to train strategically-minded design professionals. Using a proactive entrepreneurial mindset they will be able to seize opportunities to design and implement projects to shape an inclusive and sustainable world for future generations.

The “Triple Bottom Line” concept, built around the three key areas of “People, Planet, Prosperity”, is a central and defining element of the syllabus. Based on this concept, students focus on developing design projects integrating social, environmental, and economic aspects.

Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design (MOME) offers several scholarships to support international students pursuing their studies:

This Hungarian government scholarship provides full tuition coverage, a monthly stipend, accommodation support, and medical insurance. Applications are open from 15 November 2024 to 15 January 2025.

Based on bilateral agreements, this scholarship covers tuition fees for students from specific countries. Applicants must submit their applications by 22 February 2024.

Aimed at students from designated countries, this scholarship offers tuition fee reductions ranging from 25% to 100%, based on professional achievements and financial need. Applications are accepted from May to June 2025.

Designed for individuals of Hungarian descent living outside Europe, this scholarship covers full tuition fees, provides a monthly stipend, and includes medical insurance. The application period runs from 15 November 2024 to 31 January 2025.

Scholarships and Funding Option 2

In the Ceramic Studio, we use high-fired, mainly stoneware clay. The place is suitable for different pottery techniques (wheel throwing, coiling, hand-building...) - the workshop has five electric pottery wheels, a sheet roller, a kneading machine, an extruder, and 12 tables and shelves.

The lab introduces modern technology into the world of object creation. Technologies in the workshop include Laser cutting, Engraving, 3D printing, 3D scanning, Vinyl film cutting (plotter cutting), ceramic decal printing, and Prototyping. There are four computers available to students. Kindly take into consideration that printing may last up to 10–20 hours, so please find out any necessary information in time. Please bring your 3D models in .stl format.

Potential hazards: Staying in the workshop without an instructor is prohibited. Using the equipment is possible after accident-prevention training and induction.

The Drawing & Sculpting Studio serves as a venue for visual art studies. The studio is primarily used for MoME’s basic training in visualization courses, drawing, sculpting, color study exercises, and related lectures. In addition to scheduled curricular classes, students can use the studio for their studio work, with permission of the professors at agreed times.

This space can accommodate 45 people, an industrial environment, and girders for suspending or erecting sound and lighting equipment or installations.

Students of the Textil Department can make garments for design tasks in the Fashion workshop. In the Fashion workshop, students can learn different skills, pattern development (flat pattern making, draping, and CAD/CAM), tailoring, sewing, ironing, and fusing technology.

The labs provide the students with the opportunity to create different objects from fibrous materials. Please ask about using the lab in time. Equipment includes: • Industrial straw chopper • Handheld blender • Manual press • Hydraulic press

A studio with a ceiling height of 10.5 m and a floor area of 225 m² for shooting films, equipped with professional camera sets, backgrounds, studio lights, stands, a screening projector, a 4 m by 3 m projection screen, and sound reinforcement techniques, and with professional assistance provided. Potential hazards: Staying in the workshop without an instructor is prohibited. Using the equipment is possible after accident-prevention training and induction.
