In Master of Electromechanical Engineering Technology Mechanical design, automation, and energy conversion are the cornerstones of this program. Mechanical design begins with an idea, which is then shaped into a graphical design and executed into a finished product through a choice of materials, simulation, and production techniques. Automation describes a wide range of technologies that reduce human intervention and improve the overall efficiency of various engineering processes. Energy conversion comprises all aspects of energy efficiency in this process.

Electromechanics sets the world in motion. In this program, you will learn to realize and control movements in machines and devices. During lectures and labs, you will learn about the state of the art in the field of hydraulic drives and servomotors, and also how to devise a creative concept and develop it into a usable design by current standards using powerful calculation software. You can specialize in one of the following options:

  • Option Mechatronics - This option relates to designing, developing, and optimizing automated mechanical machines. Supported by a strong background in electricity and mechanics, you dive more deeply into aspects such as advanced design methods, electronic operations, controls, measures and drives, data communication, and visualization methods.
  • Option Management - This option provides a broad introduction to contemporary management theory and practice. You define and compare key aspects, basic concepts, and approaches in management and strategy and are able to analyze and interpret the complexity of managing an enterprise/organization.

Besides the specialization option, you also have a unique opportunity to complement your program with a dedicated focus. Within each focus you are getting acquainted with state-of-the-art technologies, methodologies, and applications in a specific research area, making use of the renowned expertise of the different research groups over the different campuses of the Faculty of Engineering Technology. The following focuses are offered:

  • Clinical Engineering
  • Advanced Robotics
  • Ecotechnologies
  • Vehicle Design
  • Digital and Lightweight Manufacturing
