About the Kemmy Business School (KBS)
Kemmy Business School (Faculty of Business) is one of the four Faculties in UL and is home to 29% of the 10,000 students on the UL campus, of which 430 are postgraduates.
KBS graduated 30% of UL first degrees and 22% of UL postgraduates in 2007
A €22.5m. buildings project was completed in 2008 resulting in the new integrated "home" for KBS faculty and staff (click here for a video of the new building and its state-of-the-art trading floor).
KBS runs the largest undergraduate business programme in Ireland (BBS) with c. 1,600 students
The School is organised around the Dean's Office and four academic departments
- Accounting and Finance
- Economics
- Management and Marketing
- Personnel and Employment Relations
Postgraduate programmes and short Executive Education programmes are offered through the Postgraduate Studies and Executive Education office, while research Masters and PhD programmes are offered through the Graduate Centre of Business.
Four key research centres exist in the School:
- National Centre for Tourism Policy Studies
- Centre for Entrepreneurial Studies
- AIB Centre for Information and Knowledge Management
- Euro-Asia Centre
Kemmy Business School Structure
The School structure is built around four academic departments and a number of specialist research centres and programme delivery units, largely based in the departments. The key delivery units are the four academic departments to which the 80+ faculty in the School belong.
The Office of the Associate Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Executive Education is responsible for the coordination of all taught postgraduate programmes, and the design and delivery of Executive Education programmes for employed personnel in Irish business and public sector organisations.
The Management Group is the executive decision-making unit in the School, is chaired by the Dean and its membership includes the Heads of the Academic Departments, the Assistant Deans, the Associate Dean and the School Faculty Manager.
