Introduction
The Master in Political Science and Sociology is an interdisciplinary program whose objective is to train human resources capable of performing in the context with the highest professional competence. It is the oldest, traditional, and most recognized Master's Degree of FLACSO since its inception in Santiago de Chile, in 1957. It is taught at the FLACSO headquarters in Chile, Brazil, Mexico, and 10 other countries in Latin America and the Caribbean. It has a staff of first-rate professors who, for the most part, are fully dedicated to research and teaching in their respective fields of specialty.
Objectives and recipients
The purpose of the program is not to train homogeneous professionals but to open study alternatives to them as well as to provide conceptual instruments and practical tools so that graduates can perform competently in their respective fields of activity, without giving up the comparative advantages and the human capital accumulated through your undergraduate training and your previous professional experience.
Our students, therefore, come from diverse disciplinary fields and develop a wide range of professional activities. The program is open both to young graduates who wish to deepen their training in politics and sociology, as well as to graduates with a started professional career who perceive the need to improve their skills to act in a more complex environment in their respective fields of activity. Since about a number of our students come from abroad, the diversity of disciplinary and professional backgrounds is combined with a multicultural environment, enriching the educational experience.
