Introduction
The air transport market has increased considerably involving multidisciplinary constraints and objectives to become a complex system of systems – aircraft design, manufacturing, airline operations, integrated Air Traffic Management, Airport operations, etc. Air transport global system needs to manage new technics development and methodologies in a fierce competition. The life cycle needs to master innovation acceleration with a huge quantity of information to be processed. Historical V-model reference in system development is progressively supplanted by Agile methods. Traditional development must be enforced by security and safety considerations. Facing all these constraints, Air transport stakeholders need polyvalent engineers competent in system design, quick and efficient programming, in big data, and machine learning.
The MSc IATSED has been developed with the Air Transport Industry (Egis, Cap Gemini, Airbus, Thales) to satisfy their needs and expectations in key technologies that are emerging for complex air transport systems and software development.
By integrating the MSc IATSED, you will receive a solid foundation of fundamental systems engineering knowledge with extensive experimentation in managing complex, multidisciplinary, advanced engineering projects thanks to the involvement of our industrial partners all along with the master program: course definition, project monitoring, new technologies introduction, six-month thesis.
You will gain valuable deeper insights to manage complex engineering systems and improve future processes. Based on an interdisciplinary engineering approach, the MSc IATSED makes sure you will be familiarized with international engineering concepts by direct application of international INCOSE standards. IATSED professors maintain close ties with the INCOSE community.
Curriculum
MSc IATSED teaching consists of 4 semesters, including three academic semesters and the last semester for master thesis completion in a company or a laboratory.
The semesters 1 and 2 are dedicated to the basics of air transport, system engineering, and software programming. In addition to the academic courses, they apply their acquired knowledge in teamwork projects related to the design and implementation of a realistic system.
During semester 3, students deepen their knowledge and expertise through the study of current trends in aviation and cutting edge air transport systems (SWIM, Digital towers, UTM, etc.). The applied project of this semester is built in collaboration with our industrial partners and the research teams of ENAC.
At the end of the semester 3 they have the opportunity to become INCOSE certified.
This MSc prepares students to become the actors of the future of air transport, as engineers, project managers or researchers.
Admissions
Scholarships and Funding
Eiffel grant : If you want to apply to the scholarship you have to apply to the first session of recruitment and download your complete file by November 29th. Please indicate in your letter of motivation That you want to apply to the Eiffel scholarship. The admission committee will evaluate your application and decide if ENAC support your candidacy to the Campus France jury. As the Eiffel grant is dedicated to students with outstandings results the admission team only select the best candidates for this grant. The Campus France jury, which meets in March, is the sole decision-maker in awarding the scholarship.

GIFAS Scholarships for information
ENAC Foundation has set up an international scholarship program funded by GIFAS (the French Aerospace Industries Association), to support non european students admitted in advanced masters, Masters of Science and the Graduate Engineer’s degree of ENAC.
The purpose of this initiative is to provide an incentive to high level students wishing to enrol in ENAC’s post-graduate programs. GIFAS and ENAC jointly select recipients among candidates to one of ENAC’s post-graduate programs:
- 5 advanced masters: MS ASAA, MS ATM, MS AM, MS SMA, MS UASSM
- 3 MSc: MSc ASNAT, MSc IATSED & MSc IATOM
- 1 graduate engineering degree master of science
Scholarship partially covers tuition fees, up to 4 000 €.
