Introduction
The Master of Accountancy (MAcc) program is intended to meet the needs of both career-changers and those already working in the accounting profession who wish to further develop their expertise in either our assurance or taxation tracks. Both 30-hour tracks are designed to provide students with broad-based business education. Each curriculum focuses on enhancing the student’s analytical and critical-thinking skills, written and oral communication skills, and his or her understanding of the global nature of the accounting profession. For many students, the MAcc program will also satisfy the educational requirements to sit for the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam.
The assurance track includes courses in fraud examination, financial statement investigations, complex discovery and data management, litigation, bankruptcy and insolvency, economic damages, valuation, and lost profits.
The taxation track develops significant tax knowledge with concentration courses in estate and gift taxation, as well as taxation of C corporations and pass-through entities.
