Introduction

The MPAcc is a program designed for students who hold an undergraduate degree in accounting or another business discipline seeking a career in public accounting.

The Master of Professional Accounting (MPAcc) degree is a professional degree offered primarily to those with an undergraduate degree in accounting or another business discipline seeking a career in public accounting.

To promote professional development, the program combines the study of the current accounting issues with courses in other business areas. The goal is to increase understanding of fundamental accounting principles and their application to management situations.

By combining the MPAcc degree with an undergraduate business degree, students can also meet the CPA certification requirement of 150 hours of post-secondary education, which is mandated by most states.

Graduates will earn the Master of Professional Accounting after completing 30 graduate credit hours. Students also may be required to complete prerequisite courses depending upon grades and the currency of accounting and other business courses in their undergraduate curriculum.

Most classes will be offered in the late afternoon and evening and the program can be completed on a full-time or part-time basis.
