Introduction
The goal of this programme is to deepen and broaden knowledge in biochemistry and related sciences and understand the achievements and perspectives of biochemistry. The programme provides research skills needed to know and understand modern methods and technologies necessary for the creative development and implementation of scientific ideas.
Why choose this programme?
- The programme is devoted to students with an in-depth knowledge of Chemistry, who are dedicated to excelling in the fields of Life sciences and Biotechnology.
- We offer a modern, friendly, and passionate study environment – our talented students are regular winners of iGEM, the largest worldwide scientific student competition.
- Opens avenues for your future career in fields ranging from fundamental science to applied fields in local biotech companies ( e.g. world-class research groups of Institutes of the LSC, in addition to the recently established EMBL Partnership Institute; or in private companies such as ThermoFisher Scientific and TEVA)
Program Outcome
A holder of a Master’s degree in Biochemistry knows biochemistry necessary for independent scientific research, can use the modern methods and technologies of experimental biochemistry and the related sciences in vivo, in vitro, and silico, and can integrate the knowledge of different sciences, apply the methods and technologies of biochemistry and the related sciences in research and practical work, select appropriate methods of research and interpret the results obtained through those methods reasonably, work in interdisciplinary areas and use the knowledge of different scientific fields in solving problems relating to the research, perform research and practical work requiring analytical and innovative thinking, and plan and conduct research in the fields of biochemistry and the related fields.
The program provides students with the ability to be responsible for the decisions they make, critically evaluate the latest novelties in the fields of biochemistry and the related sciences, as well as to improve and update their knowledge and skills.
Career Opportunities
- A graduate can work at biochemical and chemical laboratories, as well as in industry and trading companies
- A graduate’s analytical knowledge could be further improved through doctoral studies in the fields of biochemistry and related areas
