An alliance of 10 European universities based in post-industrial cities and funded by the European Commission, work hand-in-hand with city institutions to ensure that urban issues feed into teaching and research in a manner that is accessible and inclusive for all learners. The alliance is launching its first joint master degree in 2023 and is looking for students who will advance the post-industrial transformations of their cities and become highly-skilled graduates in new scientific disciplines that respond to the needs of the changing economy in Europe and around the world.

Campus Features
The European University of Post-Industrial Cities (UNIC) consists of ten universities situated in different countries throughout Europe, representing ten different post-industrial cities.
All ten partners share the UNIC identity. We were established in times of, and have contributed to post-industrial transitions, such as the closing of the Opel Fabric in Bochum, the end of the Ford car plant in Cork, cutbacks of the Nokia Industry in Oulu or the rapid digitalization of the harbour in the world port city of Rotterdam, and other important social, economic and cultural transformations. The transition from manufacturing to services also leads to a broad range of social, economic, cultural and demographic transformations. Our post-industrial cities are the hotspots of such broader transformations in the social landscape of Europe. This includes transformations in the labour market and in (youth) employment, in migratory patterns and migration-related diversities, in old and new inequalities, in the impact of new technologies, in new health changes, etc.
