Master Programmes in Puerto Rico 2025

The Master’s Program in Electrical Engineering (M.E.) is designed to prepare students with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to perform as efficient and highly qualified professionals in the specializations of Power and Control Systems. Both specializations are focused on modeling, design and practical knowledge of systems.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering offers two modalities of master degrees: Master of Science (M.S.) in Mechanical Engineering and Master of Engineering (M.E.) in Mechanical Engineering. In each modality, two specializations are offered: Aerospace and Energy.

The Master of Science Program in Biotechnology with Specializations in Biotechnology of Plants and General Biotechnology has as its goal the formation of professionals who possess the knowledge, skills, attitudes and the social commitment, which allow them to make responsible contributions to the scientific development for our society and to the advancement of biotechnology.

The Department of Music Education and General Studies groups together all those students who wish to become music educators in schools in Puerto Rico and abroad. Our teacher preparation program is the leader in music educator training in Puerto Rico, offering students the opportunity to develop their critical thinking and aesthetic judgment skills, as well as a high level of musical performance. He completes his preparation with a component of professional skills that enables him to practice the teaching profession in three different specialties: instrumental, choral, and general education, both at the elementary and secondary levels.

The goal of the Master in Interactive Technology Programming is to develop professional programmers with the necessary skills to be part of multinational or independent companies in the interactive technology programming industry.

This fully online program is designed for professionals from different fields willing to transmit their knowledge in areas such as, but not limited to: educators, program developers, coordinators, and administrators of educational institutions, people aware of the need to acquire proficiency in their respective fields of expertise and to develop, implement and/or coordinate online programs. This program provides knowledge and skills necessary to master the design and implementation of online instruction, which transforms the professional in this area into a highly specialized leader. This program is in harmony with the educational work at the international level, both in teaching and implementation of standards for online education, as well as monitoring and follow-up of those programs.

The specialty in Conflict Mediation offers the theoretical-practical training and the necessary training for the development and professional practice within administrative processes, combining conflict resolution with managerial practices. The development of mediation services has made it possible for people who have followed this training to work today as mediators, both in family, community, managerial mediation services, and as teachers and tutors of this and other training.

The Graduate Program of Master of Education with a specialty in Assessment and Effectiveness aspires to develop competent leaders in their profession, capable of designing and implementing assessment plans for learning outcomes and aspects concerning effectiveness. The curriculum equips the student with the knowledge and skills necessary to act as an evaluator and consultant in assessment processes related to the evaluation of educational programs.

This specialty responds to the need to train science teachers, who are adequately prepared in conceptual and methodological terms, to function effectively in the classroom and in the professional design of the curriculum, as specialists in the area.

The Landscape Architecture Master degree at Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico provides a cutting-edge career opportunity. PUPR offers two graduate curricula leading to the Master of Landscape Architecture (MLA), both of which require thesis work. Persons from all academic backgrounds (Bachelor’s) can join the Master’s degree (first professional) as a career change opportunity. Individuals who already hold a Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture (first professional) or Architecture can pursue the post professional Master’s degree.

The Ana G. Méndez University, Gurabo Campus offers the degrees of Master of Science (MS) in Mechanical Engineering and Master of Engineering (ME) in Mechanical Engineering. The Alternative Energy specialization provides the student with the opportunity to develop through courses and research in the management of various sources of alternative energy such as solar, wind, oceanic, and biofuels.

The Social Work Program professional promotes equity and social and economic justice and the well-being of human and social systems. Social workers use theories of human behavior and social systems to intervene at the points where people interact with their environment. Human rights and social justice are fundamental principles of social work. Social workers offer a variety of services to individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities.

All of our programs are duly licensed by the Puerto Rico Education Council (CEPR) and accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE). At the undergraduate level (teacher preparation programs), we have specialized accreditation granted by The Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP).
