Economic growth, the evolution of society and the expectations of territorial development originate a demand for functionality, quality and sustainability of transport and the city. The growing need for social and economic activity to be environmentally, socially and economically sustainable demands a constant improvement of the functional conception of infrastructures and their quality, of the services they provide and of the conception of the city and the territory where they are implemented. . The increase in population, the need to promote the quality of the landscape associated with tourist activity, especially along the coast, the reorganization of production processes and economic activities, and the mobility that all this entails, generate the need to review the models of urban and territorial occupation and implementation of transport infrastructures in a territory already heavily anthropized. Traditionally, university degree studies related to the construction sector have paid little attention to the field of management. However, for construction-related technicians, it is essential to acquire management knowledge and skills, since these professionals gradually acquire managerial responsibilities with experience and the development of their professional career. Therefore, there is a demand for additional training in construction management widespread throughout the sector, including public developers (Administrations), private developers (real estate and concessionaires), engineering consulting firms and construction companies. Complementarily, there is also an additional need for training in infrastructure planning and operation, more focused on public promoters. It must not be forgotten, however, that a large part of the future of the sector lies in concession contracts and in the maintenance and conservation of existing infrastructures.
