The benefits of a Masters extend beyond improving your earning potential. They can provide you with personal and professional skills to accelerate your development. They are also an opportunity to differentiate yourself from your peers, many of whom will have similar A-level and undergraduate qualifications.
Physics is the science that studies the relationships between all physical objects. The Science of Physics is the study of the very big as well as the study of the very small. Physics concerns itself with the mathematical interpretation of these worlds. Studying physics at either an undergraduate level and later at a postgraduate level will provide you with long-lasting tools to face analytical challenges in your professional life. Although a main pathway in physics is to engage in research and technology development, physicists are highly-sought after in several industries as their power to analyse and understand patterns and complex systems are unrivalled by other sciences.

The Master's program Quantum Physics for Advanced Materials Engineering is devoted to the study of new physical phenomena discovered in nanostructured materials and quantum devices created last 20-30 years in the search for components for quantum electronics. At the same time, the program addresses the basic physical principles of electronic systems and devices of quantum electronics, as well as some important manufacturing techniques and measurements of physical and chemical characteristics of quantum-sized structures and materials.
The program is designed for students trained in the number of university courses in general physics and introduction to theoretical physics for a Bachelors, which includes the courses: theoretical mechanics and the theory of elasticity, electrodynamics, quantum mechanics and statistical physics. The program does not involve a starting special training of students in the condensed matter physics, because it includes basic courses in:...
The Second cycle degree in Physics offered by the University of Padova and is intended for students with a keen interest in either the theoretical or experimental aspects
The program deepens the knowledge of basic elements of modern physics (atomic and molecular physics, solid state physics, nuclear and particle physics, astrophysics) and of theoretical physics (analytical mechanics, quantum mechanics, mathematical and numerical methods). It is possible to strengthen the knowledge of specific fields like biophysics, nanoscience, physics of matter, nuclear and particle physics, physics of the fundamental interactions, astrophysics. Finally, the program provides direct experience of the laboratory techniques and computer calculation techniques and data analysis.
The graduate in Physics will know and understand the most relevant phenomena of the physical world at different scales, starting from the macroscopic world down to the atomic physics, the physics of condensed matter, nuclear and subnuclear physics up to the physics of the universe. The understanding of the physical world will be based on experimental evidence and a proper use of the theoretical modeling and its mathematical instruments, including numerical techniques....

This course is about understanding the world around us at its most fundamental level. The knowledge generated through the study of physics is also the driving force behind most new technologies, from radars to lasers, from transistors to quantum computers, and from electron microscopes to advanced medical imaging scanners.
About The Course
You will develop a combination of high-level research, analytical and problem-solving skills which are highly valued by industry and government employers. The Master of Physics can be undertaken in one of the following: Astronomy and Astrophysics (astronomy techniques, astrostatistics, galactic dynamics, compact objects, astrophysical shocks, plasma astrophysics, space electrodynamics, and high-energy astrophysics)
Computational Physics (numerical methods, high-performance computing, graphics processing unit (GPU) programming and methods of computational physics)
Experimental Physics (data analysis and methods of experimental physics)
Medical Physics (commissioning, calibration, safe operation and maintenance of these medical systems that help to diagnose and treat thousands of people every year)
Theoretical Physics (discipline-specific knowledge at the frontiers of modern physics).

Physics aims to observe and explain the behaviour of the physical universe. In particular, physics looks for basic laws, which account for and predict what can be observed. Part of the appeal of the subject is that the physical world is governed by remarkably few such laws and that these apply everywhere and to everything.
The structure of the courses reflects the structure of the subject. All students take the core modules and choose further modules from the lists of options. The core modules introduce the fundamental principles, while the optional modules explore their applications in the different areas of physics including astrophysics, the properties of matter, particle physics and atmospheric physics. The option scheme also allows a proportion of modules to be taken from outside of physics. We encourage students not only to consider modules related to physics, for example in computing but also modules in philosophy and modern languages....

Physics is constantly developing and it is the task of the theoretical physicist to use and to improve existing theories and models, find new ones to describe recently discovered phenomena, or shed new light on old problems. Based on the scientific expertise at our department and collaborators, this MSc programme offers you advanced knowledge in theoretical physics in a strong and progressive research environment.
Reasons to choose
First class education, closely connected to researchLocated in the Albanova University Centre, shared by Stockholm University and The Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), we carry out world-leading research. With the Nordic Institute for Theoretical Physics (Nordita) next door, we cover almost all theoretical fields from string theory and quantum phenomenon to general relativity and cosmology. This creates a strong and vibrant research environment which we aim to reflect in our MSc programme. With all teachers being active researchers, our students are offered great opportunities to get in contact with the different fields through lectures, laboratory sessions, group projects, and thesis work. Mentorship programme to strengthen your independent skillsThe vast part of your studies will be at Albanova, where we have a large focus on lectures and laboratory sessions. We want our students to develop their ability to work independently as well as in groups which is why our teaching focus on course projects. There is a good relationship between students and teachers, and we provide strong academical support to the students by always having easily accessible teachers. In addition, the programme includes a...

Advanced materials with sizes ranging from nano to macro are at the core of many modern technologies. Therefore, it is important to understand and control the material properties from the atomic to the macroscopic scales. The "Physics and technology of advanced materials" MSc specialization focuses on understanding and manipulating the physical properties of materials to discover new features with application relevance. The deepening in the specific domain, mentioned above, is particularly important given the need for knowledge of how to obtain monocrystalline or nano-microsystems with well-defined properties and qualities and how to characterize their properties.
