The study specialisation is drafted for pre-primary teachers qualified preparation with emphasis on pre-school curriculum development with respect to the specific conditions of the pre-primary institution taking into consideration the specialities and needs of pre-primary children in the pedagogic-psychological context and with emphasis on pedagogical diagnostics and special-pedagogical with applying the inclusive education principles and preprimary institution management in accord with the current trends in the pre-education field. Graduate profile The graduate is trained to: do the profession of a teacher at ordinary kindergartens and in kindergartens for children with special education needs. Description of programme The study is designed as a follow-up Master’s degree, which immediately follows (and is closely linked with) the Bachelor’s degree aimed at special needs education – drama therapy and builds on the knowledge gained in the previous study to teach skills necessary for independent educational, diagnostic, therapeutic and counselling work with persons with health disability (or other types of social disadvantage). The study of special needs education – drama therapy is based on the transformations of the social reality in recent years in the area of special needs education practices and social work (especially the “Education Act” 561/2004 and Act on Social Services 108/2006 – both Acts put more emphasis on the care for persons with severe and profound health disability, which requires therapeutic-formative and social-therapeutic training of professionals – special needs educators). The aim of the study is to prepare graduates for qualified work in the sectors of education, social care, health care and justice including non-governmental organizations active in the mentioned sectors. The study organically links the knowledge of special needs education and drama therapy (in the context of other expressive therapeutic disciplines), and on the basis of a broad interdisciplinary approach leads students to independent work in solving complex theoretical and especially practical issues with their clients. Graduate profile and job opportunities The graduates will be qualified for the function on educators, expressively oriented therapists – drama therapists, experts in school counselling centres (school special needs educators), educational facilities for institutional and protective education and preventive educational care – educational care centres, children’s homes, educational institutions, substitute family institutions, children’s houses, etc. The graduates will be able to provide qualified assistance in the area of special needs education care and expressive therapy, with a special focus on drama therapy in daily care sanatoria, facilities providing social care and prevention, gerontology facilities, facilities of penitentiary and postpenitentiary (continuous) care, therapeutic communities (groups) organized by the non-profit and health care sectors. The curriculum focuses on major social processes taking place in contemporary European countries and offers opportunities for students to develop skills including data collection, analysis and interpretation while carrying out sociological research. The lectures and seminars examine processes and phenomena of international migration, nationalism, and social inequality in terms of societal integration and the main threats to the building of a civil society in Central Europe. Further, students explore the role of elites in societies undergoing social transformation and in the building of a civil society. The programme also includes lectures and seminars on carrying out applied research (electoral, marketing etc.), and special attention is paid to developing students’ critical thinking about scientific practice. Description of the entrance examination and evaluation criteria The entrance exam consists of: 1. Ranking from 1-10 points for submitted certificates showing completed Bachelor's or Master's studies. 2. Evaluation of applicants from 1-10 points on the basis of documents submitted which show results from previous studies. It is also possible to gain bonus points for having completed sociology subjects. Results from the applicant's previous studies must be evidenced in a transcript of academic results from the final years of study. This transcript, confirmed by the academic department, faculty , or college, should be scanned and sent as an attachment with the online application. The division of points for ranking applicants on their academic results from the final years of study will be calculated as an arithmetic mean, rounded up to three tenths of a place, for completed years of study. If an applicant's results are classified according to the ECTS grading system (A-E), the following conversion to points is used: A=1.0 B=1.5 C=2.0 D=2.5 E=3.0. The arithmetic mean is then calculated from these points according to the rules above. If a grading system other than 1-3 or A-E is used for successfully completed subjects, it will first be converted to the A-E grading system (according to the regulations set by the college or faculty where the applicant studies, or studied) and then converted to 1-3 as outlined above. Security studies already have several decades of history behind them, in the course of which their shape and area of concern have changed markedly. Throughout the Cold War, it was a field closely wedded to war studies and military science, and it concentrated on questions dealing with nuclear weapons, disarmament, and potential confrontations between the superpowers. After the end of the Cold War, security studies underwent a significant transformation, which, along with the ever-widening understanding of the notion of security, began to move beyond military questions to include themes such as the environment, human security, ethnic conflicts, and the debate about natural resources and energy. The current shape of the field is the result of this dynamic process. MISS promotes a progressive approach to teaching which, among other things, includes reducing class sizes and an emphasis on seminars. The pedagogical instructors aim to conduct their classes through presentations, discussions or simulations incorporating students, rather than through a one-sided monologue of facts which can be acquired by other means. This logically requires thorough preparation on the part of the student outside the class through extensive reading of the course texts. The main goal of this is to streamline the teaching process through actively involving the students in class and making it possible for them to present their opinions on and understandings of the material. The IEPS programme offers a unique study both in its contents and methods. It is based neither on an overview of facts about the social organisation, nor on crunching of abstract mathematical models – it offers the students the ways of thinking and understanding social, economic and political phenomena in globalised societies. Students deal with the nature of economic objectives of agents, social organisation, institutions of power, emergence of conflicts and aims at cooperation.
