OBJECTIVES Job prosperity in software engineering not only depends on subject knowledge but also on project and change management experience. For this reason, the Faculty of Informatics has designed this postgraduate programme to qualify first-degree graduates for management and leadership positions in international IT organisations. This course has been created in close consultation with business, industry and the engineering professions to ensure the employability of the prospective graduates. Cooperating companies are, inter alia, AUDI AG, Daimler AG, Bosch Engineering GmbH, Würth GmbH and SAP AG. FACULTY Heilbronn University has appointed a body of notable academics who possess unique competences that derive from their qualifications and professional experience. They have all worked in industry or commerce and understand, at first hand, the challenges presented by a global business world. Moreover, most tenured lecturers are involved in (inter)national research projects. Academic partnerships and exchange programmes with a number of universities all over the world allow our students to gain experience in an international software engineering context. Such partner institutions are Edinburgh Napier University in Scotland, Dundalk Institute of Technology in Ireland and the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia in Spain. Programme Structure The Master of Software Engineering and Management can be obtained in 3 semesters. The first two semesters cover the following four major areas providing a sound theoretical basis in each field and preparing students for a number organisational and leadership tasks in international software engineering organisations.
