Econometrics

A master's degree is a postgraduate academic degree. One must already have an undergraduate degree to apply for a master's program. Most master's degree program would require students to complete a master's thesis or research paper.

Econometrics uses data in many different forms, such as statistics, linear models, and economic theory, to help explain or challenge the recurring relationships that exist between economic variables. Economists often rely on the models produced by econometrics to make decisions regarding economic policy, finance, and labor economics.

The people, language, and culture of the Netherlands is referred to as "Dutch". A modern European country today, Netherlands preserved its highly international character and is known for its liberal mentality. The Netherlands has many universities. The country has recently converted their own titles into the bachelor/master system. There are two types of universities: Academic (focussing more on theoretical knowledge, aka "Universiteit") or Applied Sciences (focussing more on practical knowledge, aka "Hogeschool")

Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam trains students by preparing them for a professional career in which mathematics, statistics, and ICT are applied for the quantitative analysis of many kinds of problems, either from the world of business, finance, economics or of a more general nature. We employ a diversity of modeling and analytical techniques.
