In order to successfully obtain a Masters qualification, you will need to obtain a number of credits by passing individual modules. Most taught Masters will have a number of core modules which you must take and pass in order to obtain the qualification. The assessment of research Masters is almost always entirely by a single dissertation module or project.
Chemistry is often referred to as the central science because it seems to unify the other branches of natural science together, including biology, geology, and physics. Many believe the origins of chemistry to be traced back several thousands of years, to the practice of alchemy.
The Netherlands is a constituent country of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, consisting of twelve provinces in North-West Europe and three islands in the Caribbean. English speaking students will have no problems finding suitable courses. For international students applying to universities in the Netherlands, several scholarships are available.

AtoSiM is a two-year Physics or Chemistry Masters degree focused on computer modeling of physical, chemical and biomolecular systems. [+]
AtoSiM is a two-year Physics or Chemistry Masters degree focused on computer modeling of physical, chemical and biomolecular systems.AtoSiM is operated jointly by:Ecole normale supérieure de Lyon, France Universiteit van Amsterdam, The Netherlands Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, The Netherlands Università degli studi di Roma, "la Sapienza", Italy
This two-year degree provides a high-level qualification in the rapidly expanding field of computer modeling in physical, chemical and biomolecular sciences. This highly integrated Course covers a full range of techniques: from quantum mechanical atomistic descriptions to coarse-grained mesoscopic models. Particular fields of application include condensed matter and statistical physics, chemistry, physical chemistry, materials science and theoretical bio-molecular science. The study program is divided into four parts. All students follow courses first in Amsterdam, then in Rome, and finally in Lyon to obtain a triple diploma. The fourth semester is devoted to research in laboratories either in Amsterdam, Rome, Lyon or one of our 21 additional partners.Students obtain a triple degree. Admission into the master degree is decided on the basis of academic excellence by a selection committee composed of representatives from each partner institution. Applicants should have at least three years of prior studies majoring in physics, chemistry, engineering, applied mathematics or bio-informatics. Proof of English proficiency is also required.... [-]

Master in Chemistry
The Master’s program in Chemistry is a challenging degree program for students who already have a solid background in chemistry and who are eager to expand their knowledge and experience. Chemistry is not an isolated discipline: it forms the bridge between biology at one end of the spectrum (biomolecular chemistry) and physics at the other end (physical-theoretical chemistry). A Master’s in Chemistry can lead to an exciting, well-paid career with extensive opportunities for pursuing your ambitions.
Chemistry is a joint degree program of the University of Amsterdam and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. Courses are given at the two Faculties of Science. Graduates receive a diploma accredited by both universities.... [-]

Science for Energy and Sustainability (SES) is a two-year interdisciplinary track within the Master's programmes Chemistry and Physics and Astronomy.
It combines ‘hard’ scientific research with the analysis of societal issues, business models and government regulations. It is a joint degree programme with the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam so you will benefit from the expertise, networks and research projects at both universities. Is Science for Energy and Sustainability in Amsterdam the track for me?
It is , if you:are interested in sustainable chemistry and catalysis want to become (more) aware of the scientific, technological and societal challenges for our future want to learn how to advance renewable energy resources, promote sustainable development, and use resources more efficiently want to study the development of technological solutions to global energy and sustainability problems, as well as the societal context of global developments in this field want to pursue a career that focuses on developing sustainable solutions to our current pressing global situation with regard to energy, climate and sustainability. What does Science for Energy and Sustainability in Amsterdam have to offer me? ... [-]
