Introduction
The Master of Science in Accounting program provides excellent preparation for a career in accounting, auditing and taxation. An undergraduate degree in Accounting is not required. A combination of coursework provides a strong theoretical foundation in accounting with an understanding of practical application. Graduates of the program hold responsible leadership positions in public, private, nonprofit and government accounting.
Course Overview
The Master of Science in Accounting curriculum at Kent State University provides advanced accounting coursework with the opportunity to structure a concentration tailored to your needs.
If you have an undergraduate accounting major, you can complete the MS in Accounting program in 12 months full-time or 24 months part-time. If you do not have an undergraduate accounting degree, you can complete the MS in Accounting in 51 credit hours or less.
For the academic year 2020 – 2021, the program is partially on campus. Beginning fall 2021 (academic year 2021 – 2022), the program will be 100% online.
Analytical problem solving and communication skills developed through case studies, team and individual projects and “hands-on” activities meet the educational qualifications for the CPA, CMA and other professional examinations, including the educational requirement for sitting for the CPA exam in the state of Ohio upon program completion
