The Institute of Archaeology and the Rothberg School at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem invites students from all over the world to study the history and culture of the Land of the Bible, in the Bronze and Iron Ages, through archaeology, text, and ancient languages. The rich program incorporates both studies in the classroom and in the field, as the students are required to participate in major excavations and surveys conducted by top researchers of the Institute (for example, Tel Hazor, Tel Qedesh, and Tel Abel Beth Maacah), as well as in multiple field trips to archaeological sites in Jerusalem and around the country. A special aspect of the program will entail hands-on experience in many aspects of material culture, both theoretical and practical, utilizing the cutting-edge facilities of the Institute of Archaeology, including the Collection Room, the Computerized Archaeological Laboratory (3D scanning), and the Laboratory for Archaeological Materials and Ancient Technologies.
Unique Value Proposition - Why Us?
The program will be taught by leading renowned Hebrew University faculty members and, in addition to the high-level academic program, will provide a unique opportunity to engage in hands-on studies, both in the field and in the cutting-edge facilities of the Institute, including a one-of-a-kind Collection Room that includes an enormous study-collection of pottery and other finds.
