Program Insight
The master’s degree program in Global Management and Politics fills a crucial gap in our globalised world by training professionals who can effectively navigate complex global issues within both governmental and non-governmental organisations. With the enquiry-based educational model, students will take an active role throughout their learning experience: they will be engaged in highly practical project works with companies and institutions and case study discussions and they will have the chance to interact with top academics and highly reputed professionals, mainly from the Luiss Alumni network. The Programme will allow students to be equipped with a strong foundation in the social sciences and the rigorous methodology needed to excel in today’s interconnected business landscape and tackle global challenges with self-confidence. Study Plan
I year - 2024-2025
- Political Economy of Globalization, 6 Credits
- The course aims to provide the basic theoretical and methodological knowledge of international trade problems and policies. A special emphasis will be given to the environmental impact of globalization, especially in terms of pollution and climate change.
- Managerial Economics, 6 Credits
- The course introduces students to the application of economic principles and methodologies to key management decisions within organizations, providing a better understanding of the external business environment in which an organization operates, focusing in particular on the global scale.
- Global Organization Design and HRM, 6 Credits
- This course explores the drivers of global business organization design and the role of human resource management. We will consider the modern issues of organization design; the implication of “open organizing”; the context of global human resource management.
- Financial Reporting and Performance Measurement, 6 Credits
- This course focuses on the use of financial statements, particularly for analysis and valuation. The student will be able to conduct a financial analysis, evaluate equity investments using the firm’s fundamentals and write a credible equity research report.
- Research Methods for Social Sciences, 6 Credits
- This course is an introduction to qualitative research with a ‘how-to’, practical focus. The main goal of this course is thus to equip students to critically read, design, conduct, and report qualitative research projects.
- Corporate Strategy, 6 Credits
- The course aims to explain theoretical frameworks and models to formulate and implement corporate-level strategies. Students will develop competencies to understand and analyze strategic decisions on the industry, cost efficiency, resources and competitive advantage, growth strategy, and transformation due to digitalization.
- Cross-cultural Management, 6 Credits
- The course aims to introduce students to the core issues related to cross-cultural management, providing them with the appropriate knowledge and understanding of the impact of cultures on management and organizational behavior.
- Data Analysis for Social Sciences, 6 Credits
- The course aims to train students in methods of multivariate quantitative analysis frequently used in political and policy analysis. The course will run from simple and bivariate analysis to multivariate statistical techniques.
- International Trade Law, 6 Credits
- The course aims to examine the economic interaction between States as well as the economic relationships between states and non-government entities, providing an overview of the legal and institutional foundations of international trade law that governs foreign investments.

- The course aims to introduce the theoretical and analytical bases needed to manage the international political side of global business. It provides the student with key tools for analyzing international affairs, including major actors and controversial issues of our time.
- International Institutions and Global Governance, 6 Credits
- The course aims to provide a comprehensive introduction to the interaction between global institutions and international law. Students will be able to analyze the main challenges that global governance faces today, such as peace and security, anti-money laundering, human rights, sustainable development.
- Global History, 6 Credits
- This class is designed to introduce students to methods, theories, and critiques of global history. We will survey how scholars of diverse disciplinary backgrounds have attempted to both analyze global change and cull meaning from global integration.
- Political Risk Analysis, 6 Credits
- Political risk analysis is a practice-driven set of activities performed by corporate and governmental actors to provide investors with insights into socio-political events. The course provides conceptual and practical skills that enable students to pursue a career in political risk consulting.
- Business Ethics, 6 Credits
- This course focuses on the ethical justification of markets and the ethical behavior of professionals within corporations. The nature and task of corporations and the civic responsibilities of professionals are considered, Sustainability and stakeholder analysis are the background frameworks of the course.
