MSc in Psychology Programme overview Master's Programme, 2 Years, Full time Code: LU-18339 120 credits Lund Campus Study period: 03 Sep 2012 – 08 Jun 2014 The programme comprises a total of 120 higher education credits, including a Master s thesis of 30 credits. The first term begins with a course in Theory of Science and Psychological research methods, where students are stimulated to advance their academic thinking and deepen their understanding of how knowledge is acquired and represented within Psychology. The course provides the students with methodological skills required for independent research. The second term the students can choose between courses in Developmental- and Personality Psychology or Social Psychology. The courses increase the students understanding and knowledge of Psychology through deepening their comprehension of theories and current research. The third term the students can choose between courses in Cognition- and Neuro Psychology or Work- and Organisational Psychology. The courses increase the students understanding and knowledge of Psychology through deepening their comprehension of theories and current research . Term two or three can be replaced with elective courses. During the fourth and last term students complete the programme by writing a thesis, which provides the students with the opportunity to demonstrate and enhance their understanding of theories and empirical research methods. Prerequisites A Bachelor s degree with a major in Psychology including at least 15 credits of psychological research methods and statistics. English B (advanced) language proficiency shall be demonstrated in one of the following ways: IELTS score of 6.5 (with no section less than 5.5) TOEFL paper-based score of 4.5 (scale 1-6) in written test and a total score of 575; internet- based score of 20 (scale 0-30) in written test and a total score of 90 Cambridge/Oxford – Advanced Certificate of Proficiency A Bachelor’s degree from a university where English is the only language of instruction, according to the International Handbook of Universities A pass on English course B (Swedish upper secondary school). Selection based on grades on the courses and thesis in the BA degree and letter of intent. -
