This programme is directed to you who already have a Bachelors Degree in a specific subject area and who are interested in a career as a manager in your future working life. Upon completion of the programme you will be able to deal with complex management problems and understand the conditions of management in your specific field of expertise. You will also be able to reflect on your own role as a leader as well as demonstrate an ability to assess social and ethical consequences of managerial decisions. The Master of Science in Management provides an intellectually challenging environment, combining theoretical studies with practical realities. When you are able to independently account for a theoretical argument, apply this to practical reality and, at the same time, develop both, we can say that we have reached our aim. Within the Management programme you can specialize in an area of your interest. In practice this means at least 3 courses of 7.5 hec plus a Master Degree Project in the specific area. Graduate School will offer three cross-master specializations, specifically Environmental Sustainability, Event and Tourism and Public Management as alternatives to the elective courses. Please note that students are selected based on GMAT or GRE General test score. -

Sustainability is more than just a buzzword. Raw materials are one of the fastest depleting resources on Earth. A steady and sustainable supply of many of these materials is vital for a decarbonising society, renewable energy infrastructure, electric mobility but also consumer products and electronics. The outdated make-take-use-dispose model is no longer valid in a world of finite resources. In order to deal with this challenge, three leading European universities cooperated to develop a new Erasmus+ Master programme – the International Master of Science in Sustainable and Innovative Natural Resource Management (SINReM). SINReM was created to educate a new generation of professionals who can engineer technology to reinvent materials science, and gain competence, expertise and confidence in developing solutions in the sustainable use of materials. -

The EMerald Master programme was created to answer the urgent need expressed by the European Union to create a resource efficient Europe. As the EU recognised the importance of mineral and metal resources in our modern economy, it also realised that the raw materials industries were facing a critical skills shortage. The EMerald Master programme aims to train a new generation of engineers with an entrepreneurial mindset and a global vision of the value chain, putting the extraction of mineral and metal resources at the beginning of a circle which ends by collecting end-of-life products and recovering valuable materials out of the urban mines (circular economy). -

As global and EU populations increase along with well-being and welfare, consumption per capita is also increasing. In the EU especially, consumption has outpaced production, particularly with respect to the more complicated, resource-intensive technologies and products that have become part of daily life. As a result, the importance of recycling and the circular economy will continue to increase in order to diversify our sources of supply and meet our needs. AMIS is a Master programme in Advanced Materials for Innovation and Sustainability. The primary objective of the programme is to provide students with an understanding of the full raw materials value chain and a mindset for innovation and entrepreneurship focusing on sustainability. -

The International Business and Trade Programme take its point of departure in present day managerial decision making. Continuous globalization processes of domestic economies have led to a situation where firms must face and comprehend the impacts from global production and trade networks. Consequently, there is a growing need for firms and managers to respond to the increased possibilities as well as complexities of the greater and more relaxed movement of capital, people, services, products and knowledge as they are subject to and must understand forces from national and supranational levels. The programme takes an interdisciplinary approach, synthesizing methods of international business environment analysis with theories concerning strategic management of multinational corporations. This also includes an understanding of the legal framework affecting international trade and foreign direct investment. It has its foundation in both business studies as well as economic geography, making the program unique in the area of international management. The International Business and Trade programme gives You a distinctive combination of training and knowledge about the functioning of multinational companies in the global economy. This is viewed from a business perspective and supported by a thorough legal understanding concerning international trade. During the programme, deep insights are accumulated concerning different industries and countries through courses that fine-tune individual analysis capability and give valuable skills and understandings concerning project team work. Furthermore, the programme provides opportunities for field work in an international environment at respected European and Asian universities. The programme is carried out with a strong emphasis on real world examples and case studies from manufacturing and service companies, operating globally, based on both typical western and emerging market contexts. Many of the case studies and project assignments are implemented in close cooperation with established multinational corporations as well as internationalizing small and medium sized firms. The programme is especially designed for students who plan a future career in international companies, in marketing, purchasing, exports and strategic management. The programme is also aimed at students who wish to specialize in trade policy and/or trade promotion in international organizations, or national government institutions. Within the International Business and Trade programme you can specialize in an area of your interest. In practice this means at least 3 courses of 7.5 hec plus a Master Degree Project in the specific area. Graduate School will offer two cross-master specializations, specifically Environmental Sustainability and Event and Tourism as alternatives to the elective courses. This Master programme is designed to meet the increasing demand for professionals with top quality skills in the private sector as well as in international organizations and the public sector, in Sweden and all over the world. The largest share of students who have specialized in Economics in Göteborg are working in the private sector, and many of them are working abroad. The Master of Science education implies an additional step compared to the bachelor education in economics. It provides both a deeper analytical education in general as well as better opportunities to specialize and achieve practically useful skills. In a knowledge-based society, a Bachelors Degree is often not sufficient to compete for the most attractive jobs, and to have a Masters Degree is rapidly becoming a necessity. The Master courses aim to impart deeper knowledge and understanding, including awareness about economic conditions and developing tendencies, thereby enabling you to apply economic theory as well as concrete empirical tools, including various software programmes, to critically analyze current problems. We offer specialization in Development Economics, Environmental Economics, Health Economics, Historical Economics and Industrial Economics, but you may tailor the programme in accordance with your own choice. Please note that students are selected based on GMAT or GRE General test score. -
