Find Master of Science Programs in Natural Sciences in the USA
Master programs provides the same title for the degree - the Master. Postgraduate studies such as Masters of Science are shortened MSc. The Master of Science in Management program or the Master of Science of Management education are postgraduate programs in common management. This means that students receive an academic education with depth of reflection and abstraction. Masters usually can be classified as Master of Science (MSc) or the popular Master of Arts (MA). The Master of Science (MSc) usually is given for successfully achieving postgraduate programs with a science or technical point of convergence.
The natural sciences deal with the understanding of natural phenomena through observations and predictions. The scientific method and the laws of nature may be covered. Natural science branches include areas such as physics and biology, and there are many more.

Geodesign goes beyond a traditional understanding of geography, therefore demanding a multidimensional view of the environment, including population changes, our consumption, and demand of resources, existing natural and manmade systems, climate changes and other factors. By integrating the principles of design and this expanded geographic perspective, Geodesign professionals develop solutions to our environmental crises as they affect our urban populations and the future of our planet.
The MS in Geospatial Technology for Geodesign is a 36-credit post-professional degree open to those interested in GIS and/or the allied design disciplines: architecture, landscape architecture, planning, and engineering. Classes are offered on a full-time or part-time basis and are held in the evenings and Saturdays in order to meet the needs of our professional students....

The primary goal of the M.S. in Biology is to develop the student's ability to think creatively and critically about a range of biological subject matter and to become familiar with current research in biology. This is done principally through graduate courses, seminars, and research experience with a faculty member.
Our program offers two options for the M.S. degree:
Open Choice M.S.
Open Choice M.S. - This program is designed for students wishing to upgrade their expertise in the biology professions, explore or expand their interest in research, or broaden their base for making future career choices in the biological sciences.

About the Program
The Master of Science in Biological Sciences program is designed to prepare students for many types of biological work that require advanced training beyond the bachelor's degree, including careers in industry and/or civil service, teaching biological sciences at the elementary, secondary, and community college levels, independent research in the field of specialization, or continued graduate work at other institutions. A research thesis is required.
The Biological Sciences Department at Cal Poly takes Learn by Doing seriously. Over three-fourths of our courses include a lab section. That means our students spend most of their time out in the field collecting data or in the lab running experiments on modern equipment – not sitting at desks....

Map Out Your Future With an Online Masters in GIS!
Geospatial technologies affect almost every aspect of life, from navigating an unfamiliar neighborhood to tracking patterns of diseases in populations. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, geospatial technologies is one of the three high-growth industries of the 21st century. That translates into big opportunity—and with an Elmhurst M.S. in GIS, you’ll be well-prepared to meet it.
Elmhurst has something most colleges don’t—a dedicated GIS server and access to professional Esri GIS software. So you’ll get something most students won’t: high-end processing power from a regular computer.
The master of science in geographic information systems at Elmhurst requires the successful completion of 10 courses for a total of 7.50 credits (30 semester hours). The program also fulfills the educational requirements of the GISP (certified GIS professional). The curriculum will develop geospatial skill sets in correlation with the Geospatial Technology Competency Model (GTCM) as defined by the U.S. Department of Labor and the National Geospatial Technologies Center of Excellence (Geo Tech Center). AGS 500 may be waived, per the program director's discretion, for the following students:...

Mathematics has always been crucial to many different forms of scientific inquiry. Now, more than ever, advances in scientific research are found to benefit from the formulation and analysis of quantitative mathematical models. Successful analysis of a model leads to a better understanding of the role and interaction of key components in the system being studied and provides a predictive tool for improving system performance. The sequence of model development, analysis, simulation, and interpretation of data demands the application of sophisticated modern and classical mathematical methods. With society's growing use of mathematically oriented innovation, career opportunities for applied mathematicians are better than ever...

The M.S. in Biology is designed to prepare students for graduate or professional studies as well as for entering the job market. Students can pursue a general Masters degree or choose from one of three concentrations: molecular/cellular biology, microbiology or medical microbiology. Students choosing the general Masters degree design their course of study, with the approval of their advisor, and can vary from sustainability, ecology, systematics, environmental studies, or developmental biology.
Students may choose one of two pathways to complete the degree: (1) complete a research project under the advisement of one of the faculty members, and write and successfully defend a thesis based upon that research; or (2) take a comprehensive examination based upon the coursework completed. The general Master's degree and the three concentrations have sets of required core courses (see Course of Study) which the student must complete; additional coursework is completed from elective classes....

Electric energy systems are rapidly transforming, making jobs in the energy sector among the fastest growing in the U.S. Our program equips students for energy management
Students gain an understanding of the grid, historically and today; electricity markets; electricity production, efficiency, and conservation; governance, risk, and compliance (GRC); environmental impacts and constraints from energy; and the policy environment. They develop skills in strategic management, communication, change management, stakeholder engagement, and critical and systems thinking.
Our interdisciplinary program features small class sizes and opportunities for research, internships, and professional engagement.
Program Learning Outcomes
Students will be able to:
utilize principles and processes of whole systems to understand how the energy system impacts and is related to the ecological system and the social system.
demonstrate an understanding of the energy policy and market environments and their impact on energy consumption and production.
demonstrate an understanding of the human dimension of energy systems including managing for change, stakeholder engagement, and customer engagement.
communicate skillfully through written reports and oral presentations in styles relevant to the energy field.
utilize critical analysis to understand why the current electricity generation and distribution system evolved and how to move it towards the 21st-century grid.
Classes are taught by full-time faculty, as well as by part-time faculty who have experiential knowledge in the energy sector.
We host guest speakers representing many aspects of the industry-government, utilities, NGOs, private firms.
Evening classes are held at USF’s downtown San Francisco campus at 101 Howard Street. Saturday classes are held at the main campus.
