The Graduate program of Mathematics Department intends to raise the knowledge of students to the level in which they can contribute to research and education in pure and applied mathematics. At the graduate level, we offer three degrees. The first two are master degree in Mathematics (M.Sc.), with thesis and without thesis and Ph. D. in Mathematics.
Students can choose to study and research in Algebra, mathematical physics, numerical analysis, and hydrodynamics. The students having a B.Sc. degree in all branches of mathematics, mathematics education, engineering and science faculties can apply to the Mathematics Graduate Program.

The Molecular Biology, Genetics, and Bioengineering program (BIO) aims to develop an integrated scientific perspective on the fundamentals of molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics and cell biology. These topics all rely on a solid background in mathematics, physics, and chemistry. The program also has a biotechnology dimension with courses on the exploitation of biological systems for developing new technologies and industrial applications. We educate future bioengineers who benefit from interdisciplinary undergraduate courses to build an understanding of engineering concepts and techniques. High Energy Astrophysics research at Sabanci University concentrates on the structure, dynamics, and evolution of neutron stars, black holes, white dwarfs, matter in their environments, as well as the radiation emitted by these compact objects. Instrumentation research with room temperature semiconductors is also pursued. This research particularly aims at understanding the structure of matter at the highest densities, up to and beyond 10^15 g/cm^3, under extreme magnetic fields of up to10^15 G and the most rapid possible rotation rates, with rotation periods as short as milliseconds. Theoretical research, as well as observations with international X-ray and gamma-ray observatory satellites, in addition to optical observations at the TÜBİTAK National Observatory, are pursued. The Sabancı University Astrophysics and Space Forum also hosts workshops and foster scientific collaboration with astrophysicists in Turkey and abroad....

algebra and number theory and their applications (in particular, modular forms, finite fields, coding theory, and cryptography).
Graduate students may choose to follow the regular track of pure mathematics as well as joint work with other disciplines within the university such as the computer science or economics.
The research within the Mathematics Group at Sabancı University focus on:

Master of Science program in Reproductive Biology aims at providing the theoretical background as well as practical skills in reproductive medicine and assisted reproduction technologies. The program includes courses on the development of male and female reproductive cells, embryo development, handling of reproductive cells and embryo at laboratory conditions. It also discusses the medical problems of the patients applying to "Assisted Reproductive Technologies Centers" and approaches to such problems. Graduates of the program will have the necessary background and skills to be employed in "Assisted Reproductive Technologies Centers" and "Andrology Laboratories". Additionally, they can apply to the centers assigned by the Ministry of Health to obtain the certificate required to work as the "Director of Embryology Laboratory"....
