The Master of Science (M.Sc.) programs offered at The Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME) are not restricted to those who received their B.Sc. diplomas in engineering at BME. These programs are open to all students who receive diplomas in mechanical engineering, mechatronics engineering or transportation engineering at any of the Hungarian or foreign institutions of higher education.

The entrance requirements of the programs have been defined in a way which also allows someone having a B.Sc. in another engineering area, physics, mathematics or computer science to join the M.Sc. programs while fulfilling a few additional requirements.

In the M.Sc. curriculum, there are 30 credit points which are dedicated to the final project. This can be completed in two semesters (Final Project A and Final Project B). It is a prerequisite that at least 55 credit points, as well as any “supplemental” subjects, be completed prior to beginning the Final Project A. In order to begin the Final Project B, it is required that the student finish – excluding the elective subjects – 79 credit points worth of the M.Sc. subjects found in the curriculum.
